The 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 (𝐂𝐔) proudly announces a groundbreaking partnership with the 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲 (𝐒𝐈𝐎), 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚, to establish an 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 on its 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬.

This monumental agreement was signed during a landmark visit by 𝐂𝐔’𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫, who toured 𝐒𝐈𝐎’𝐬 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 in 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐳𝐡𝐨𝐮, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚, including its 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐬 and 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

On the evening of December 9, the prestigious 9th Gold Award Ceremony was held at the British High Commission in Dhaka, organized by 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐡’𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, established in 1956 by Prince Philip, is a UK-based initiative supported by the British Royal Family. Operating in over 144 countries, it aims to nurture leadership, resilience, confidence, and social engagement among youth, helping them become impactful contributors both locally and globally.
At this grand event, nine students from the University of Chittagong proudly received the prestigious Gold Award alongside students from 18 other institutions across Bangladesh.

The awards were personally handed over by Her Excellency Sarah Cooke, the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, at her official residence.
In her address, the British High Commissioner congratulated the recipients and remarked, "The young individuals achieving The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award have demonstrated extraordinary dedication and skill development beyond limits. Their efforts position them to make significant contributions to society and global progress."
The recognition serves as an inspiration for all young individuals to strive for excellence, embrace challenges, and make meaningful impacts in their communities and beyond. Congratulations once again to all the recipients for this well-deserved honor.

কবি সুভাষ মুখোপাধ্যায়ের রচিত এই শব্দগুলো যেন আমাদের রক্তে বিজয়ের এক অদ্ভুত শিহরণ বয়ে আনে।

আজ ১৬ ডিসেম্বর,আমাদের মাতৃভূমি “বাংলাদেশ” এর মহান বিজয় দিবস। আজকের দিনটি শুধু আমাদের বিজয়ের দিনই নয়,এটি আমাদের স্বাধীনতার সংগ্রামের একটি গৌরবময় প্রতিফলন।
মহান বিজয় দিবস ২০২৪ উপলক্ষে চিটাগং ইউনিভার্সিটি রিসার্চ অ্যান্ড হায়ার স্টাডি সোসাইটির পক্ষ থেকে আজ সকাল ৯:৩০ ঘটিকায় চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্বাধীনতা ম্যূরালে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণের মাধ্যমে মুক্তিযুদ্ধের মহান আত্মত্যাগীদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি নিবেদন করা হয়েছে। যাঁরা আমাদের স্বাধীনতার জন্য জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছেন, তাঁদের প্রতি এই শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি আমাদের ত্যাগ ও গৌরবের ইতিহাসকে চিরস্মরণীয় করে রাখে।
ধর্ম,বর্ণ,শ্রেণী,পেশা,সংস্কৃতি সবকিছুর ভেদাভেদ ভুলে জাতীয় ঐক্যের সূতায় গেঁথে থেকে নিজেদের মাতৃভূমিকে উন্নতির এক অনন্য শিখরে নিয়ে যাওয়ায় হোক আজকের নতুন বাংলাদেশের প্রতি আমাদের সকলের একনিষ্ঠ অঙ্গীকার।

মহান বিজয় দিবসে উপলক্ষ্যে সকলকে জানাই বিজয়ী শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন।

এমন দেশটি কোথাও খুঁজে পাবে নাকো তুমি,
সকল দেশের রাণী সে যে আমার জন্মভূমি।

সকল দেশের রাণী এই বাংলাদেশের পবিত্র ভূখণ্ডে হাজার বছর ধরে মাথা উঁচু করে দাড়িঁয়ে থাকা এই জাতির জাতীয় জীবনে অবিস্মরণীয় গৌরবময় দিন আজ, মহান বিজয় দিবস।

বড় কষ্টে অর্জিত এই বিজয়। সেই ১৯৪৮ সাল থেকে শুরু, ৫২’র ভাষা আন্দোলন, ৬৬ সালের ছয় দফা, ৬৯’র গণঅভ্যুত্থান, ৭০’র নির্বাচন এরপর ৭১’র দীর্ঘ নয় মাসব্যাপী রক্তক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধের বিনিময়ে ১৯৭১ সালের ১৬ ডিসেম্বর আমরা অর্জন করি আমাদের স্বাধীনতা। পৃথিবীর বুকে স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয় ঘটে ১৯৭১ সালের আজকের এই দিনে। তাই মহান বিজয় দিবস শুধু একটি দিন নয়, এটি আমাদের অস্তিত্ব, মর্যাদা ও গৌরবের প্রতীক।

নয় মাসব্যাপী চলা রক্তক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধে যে ত্রিশ লক্ষ প্রাণ ঝরে গিয়েছে, যে দুই লক্ষ মা-বোনের সম্ভ্রম বিলীন হয়েছে আমরা তাদেরকে ভুলে যেতে চাই না। সেই সাথে ভুলে যেতে চাই না চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একজন শিক্ষক, বারোজন শিক্ষার্থী সহ তিন জন কর্মকর্তার মহান আত্মত্যাগের কথা। কবিতার ভাষায় বলতে গেলে,

এক সাগরও রক্তের বিনিময়ে,বাংলার স্বাধীনতা আনলে যারা।

আমরা তোমাদের ভুলবো না।

তাই বিজয়ের এই দিনে আমরা চিটাগাং ইউনিভার্সিটি রিসার্চ এন্ড হায়ার স্টাডি সোসাইটি (সিইউআরএইচএস) পরিবার গভীর শ্রদ্ধার সাথে স্মরণ করছি সেইসব মহান মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের যাদের মহান আত্মত্যাগের বিনিময়ে অর্জিত আমাদের এই স্বাধীনতা।

স্বাধীনতা পরবর্তী নানা বাঁধা পেড়িয়ে ২০২৪ সালে আবারও স্বৈরাচার পতনের এই আন্দোলনে তাজা প্রাণ ঝরিয়ে যে নতুন বাংলাদেশ আমরা পেয়েছি সেখানে যেমন মতিউর রহমান, হামিদুর রহমানের অবদান অস্বীকার করা যাবেনা, ঠিক তেমনি চিরস্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে ইউক্যাচিং মারমা কিংবা চিত্ত রঞ্জন দত্তের মতো মহান বীরদের আত্মত্যাগের কথা।

কষ্টে অর্জিত এই দেশ আমাদের সকলের। এই দেশকে ভালো রাখার দায়িত্ব জাতি, ধর্ম, বর্ণ নির্বিশেষে আমাদের সবার।

বিজয়ের এই মাহেন্দ্রক্ষণে, আসুন আমরা প্রতিজ্ঞা করি—সকল বিভেদ ভুলে জাতি হিসেবে এক ও অবিচল থাকবো। জয় বাংলা, জয় বাংলাদেশের চিরন্তন বিজয়।

শহীদ বুদ্ধিজীবী দিবস: মেধা নিধনের এক কালো অধ্যায়

আজ ১৪ ডিসেম্বর, বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে এক অবর্ণনীয় শোকের দিন। ১৯৭১ সালের এই দিনে, যখন স্বাধীনতার সূর্যোদয় সমাগত, তখন পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনী ও তাদের দোসররা জাতির শ্রেষ্ঠ মেধাবীদের নির্মমভাবে হত্যা করে জাতিকে মেধাশূন্য করার ঘৃণ্য ষড়যন্ত্র বাস্তবায়ন করে। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক, চিকিৎসক, সাংবাদিক, লেখক, শিল্পীসহ জাতির গর্বিত সন্তানদের নিষ্ঠুর হত্যাযজ্ঞে মেতে উঠে তারা।

শহীদ বুদ্ধিজীবীদের এই আত্মত্যাগ শুধু একটি জাতির জন্য নয়, বরং গোটা মানবজাতির জন্য এক চিরন্তন শিক্ষা। এ দিনটি আমাদের স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়, মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনাকে হৃদয়ে ধারণ করে একটি ন্যায়ভিত্তিক ও সমৃদ্ধ বাংলাদেশ গড়ার দায়িত্ব আমাদের সবার।

চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে সাম্প্রতিক গুপ্ত হামলার ঘটনায় চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ক্লাব অ্যালায়েন্স গভীর নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানাচ্ছে। নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থার ঘাটতির কারণে শিক্ষার্থীদের জীবনের ঝুঁকি বাড়ছে, যা প্রশাসনের দ্রুত তদন্ত ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপের দাবি জানায়। শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে নিরাপদ ও শান্তিপূর্ণ রাখতে সকলের সম্মিলিত প্রচেষ্টা প্রয়োজন।

As part of our ongoing efforts to bridge higher education and professional development, CURHS, in collaboration with The English Academy , hosted an engaging session titled ‘𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲.’ This initiative aimed to equip participants with essential English language skills for thriving in academic and professional environments. Led by the distinguished Mr. Rakin Mahmood, the session provided practical insights and actionable strategies for global success.

Recognizing the importance of English for academic and professional excellence, this session covered key areas such as mastering reading techniques, perfecting essay structures, and developing effective speaking and interview skills. With practical insights and golden tips, the session guided participants on how to excel in the global arena. Additionally, software-based tactics and communication strategies were shared to enhance proficiency.

The session brought enthusiastic responses from participants across various fields. We are immensely grateful to Mr. Mahmood for his impactful lecture and to all attendees for making this session vibrant and engaging.

Through this initiative, the goal of fostering language skills for global success has been accomplished. Hopefully, we will have more collaboration with English Academy. Stay tuned for more dynamic sessions from CURHS!

'নোবেল বিজ্ঞান বক্তৃতা'-২০২৪

একটি দেশের উন্নয়ন ও সমৃদ্ধির অন্যতম চাবিকাঠি হলো বিজ্ঞান ও গবেষণা। বাংলাদেশের মতো উন্নয়নশীল দেশ প্রযুক্তি ও গবেষণার ক্ষেত্রে এখনও পিছিয়ে। এই বাস্তবতাকে মাথায় রেখে গবেষণার বিস্তৃতি ও তার প্রয়োজনীয়তা নিয়ে চট্টগ্রামের জিয়া স্মৃতি জাদুঘর মিলনায়তনে গতকাল ৩০ নভেম্বর ২০২৪ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে "নোবেল বিজ্ঞান বক্তৃতা", যা ছিল বিজ্ঞান-অনুরাগীদের জন্য এক আনন্দময় এবং অনুপ্রেরণাদায়ক সন্ধ্যা। এবারের নোবেল পুরস্কার বিজয়ী গবেষণা ও গবেষণাগুলোর প্রভাব নিয়ে বিশদ আলোচনা করেন দেশসেরা গবেষকরা।

অনুষ্ঠানটিতে সম্মানিত প্যানেল আলোচক হিসেবে ছিলেন বাংলাদেশ বিজ্ঞান ও শিল্প গবেষণা পরিষদের (বিসিএসআইআর) বিজ্ঞানী ড. মো. মুরশেদ হাসান সরকার এবং চট্টগ্রাম প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. সুমিত মজুমদার এবং চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জেনেটিক ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এন্ড বায়োটেকনোলজি বিভাগের সহকারী অধ্যাপক
ড. মো. মাহবুব হাসান।

প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন নোয়াখালী বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় উপ-উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ রেজওয়ানুল হক। বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন এসপেরিয়া হেলথ কেয়ারের চেয়ারম্যান গোলাম বাকী মাসুদ, জে আর মেটালের প্রোপাইটার জুয়েল আহমেদ, দৃষ্টি চট্টগ্রামের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা মাসুদ বকুল ও চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জেনেটিক ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং অ্যান্ড বায়োটেকনোলজি বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. আদনান মান্নান। দৃষ্টির সহ-সভাপতি মুজিবুর রহমান মনি, যুগ্ম সম্পাদক কাজী আরফাত, সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক মুন্না মজুমদারসহ অনেকে।

আলোচনায় ড. মো. মাহবুব হাসান এলফাফোল্ড প্রযুক্তি এবং এ বছর রসায়নে নোবেল পুরস্কারের গুরুত্ব নিয়ে অসাধারণ আলোচনা করেন। তাঁর বক্তৃতায় উঠে আসে কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা এবং প্রোটিন ফোল্ড সংক্রান্ত গবেষণার বৈপ্লবিক ভূমিকার কথা।
ড. সুমিত মজুমদার, পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের নোবেল পুরস্কারের পেছনের গবেষণা এবং তার ভবিষ্যৎ প্রভাব নিয়ে একটি মুগ্ধকর উপস্থাপনা প্রদান করেন।অপরদিকে, ড. মো. মুরশেদ হাসান সরকার, চিকিৎসাবিজ্ঞানের নোবেল বিজয়ী গবেষণার সূক্ষ্ম দিক এবং এর বাস্তব প্রয়োগ নিয়ে প্রাঞ্জল বক্তব্য রাখেন।
