কিছুদিন আগে প্রায় ২৫ টির মতো বাংলাদেশী স্টুডেন্টের প্রোফাইল ইভালুয়েট করলাম যারা একটা ইউনিভার্সিটিতে এপ্লাই করেছে ফল ২০২৫ এর জন্য৷ ইন্সট্রাকশন ছিলো ইউনিভার্সিটিগুলো আমি চিনলে তাদের কোয়ালিটি কেমন, প্রোফাইলে পাবলিকেশন/রিসার্চ এক্সপেরিয়েন্স আছে কিনা, কোন ফার্স্ট অথর পেপার আছে কিনা, তার স্কিলস কি কি, আর এসওপি। এই কয়েকটা জিনিস দেখে তারপর আমাকে রিকমেন্ড করতে বলেছে তাদেরকে ইন্টারভিউ এর জন্য সিলেক্ট করবে কিনা।
আমি সেখান থেকে ১২/১৩ জনের নাম রিকমেন্ড করি, প্রফেসররা আরও ৩/৪ জনকে বাদ দিয়ে টোটাল ৮/৯ জনের নাম সিলেক্ট করে। আমি ফার্স্ট অথর পেপারের ব্যাপারে বলেছি "আমাদের দেশে এখনও ওই কালচার সব জায়গায় হয়ে উঠেনি যে টিচাররা স্টুডেন্টদের ফার্স্ট অথর দিবে। মেক্সিমাম ক্ষেত্রে নিজেই ফার্স্ট অথর, নিজেই কোরেস্পন্ডিং অথর। আরও ১০ বছর পর হয়তো এটা বিবেচনা করা যাবে।"
ইভালুয়েট করার পর যা বুঝলাম অনেকে নিজেদের স্কিল বা প্রজেক্ট নিয়ে লিখতে বা বলতে পারে না। নিজে কি কি জানি সেটা সিভি বা এসওপিতে ম্যানশন করা দরকারি। সিভিতে আইএলটস/টোফেল স্কোর লেখার চাইতে নিজের সফট স্কিল, ল্যাবরেটরি স্কিল লিখা দরকার বেশী।
একজনের রেজাল্ট ৪/৪, বাট তার সিভি আর এসওপি দেখে মনে হয়েছে সে আসলে কিছু পারে না। এসওপিতে সে ইউনিভার্সিটির ওয়েবসাইটে যেসব প্রশ্ন আছে সেগুলো কপি করে প্রশ্নোত্তরের মতো করে দুইটা পেইজ জমা দিয়েছে।
আরেকজনের প্রোফাইলে ৩ টা পাবলিকেশন, কিন্তু তার এসওপিতে প্রজেক্টে তার কি রুল বা সে কি কি করেছে তার কোনকিছু নাই। আবার অনেকে এসওপিতে ম্যানশন করেছে তার পেপার আছে বাট তার সিভিতে সেটার কোন তালিকা নাই। অনেকে এখনও জানে না কিভাবে পাবলিকেশনের লিস্ট করতে হয়। এসবকিছু কিন্তু NextTop USA/CURHS এর মতো গ্রুপগুলোতে পাওয়া সিভিতে দেয়া আছে। একটু দেখলেই নিজের লিস্ট নিজে করা পসিবল।
আইএলসটে যেটা সবচেয়ে বেশী গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ছিলো তা হলো লিসেনিং আর স্পিকিং। এই দুইটা স্কোরই আমাকে দেখতে বলেছে। এই দুইটা যারা মিনিমাম রিকোয়ারমেন্ট ফিলআপ করে নাই তাদের প্রোফাইল অতি ভাল না হলে বাদ দিতে বলেছে।
আবার অনেকের মাস্টার্স পর্যন্ত কোন এক্সপেরিয়েন্স নাই। সেইম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অন্যজনের সেই এক্সপেরিয়েন্স আছে। স্বভাবতই রেজাল্ট ভাল হলেও তার বাদ পড়তে হয়েছে। এখন দেশে রিসার্চ অপরচুনিটি আসতে আসতে বাড়ছে। যারা ভবিষ্যতে এপ্লাই করবেন তাদের জন্য এসবে যুক্ত হওয়াটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এখন আর সুযোগের অভাবে পারিনি বলার সুযোগ নেই। যতটুকু সুযোগ আছে তা দিয়েই আমাদের চেষ্টা করতে হবে। ওরাও জানে আপনি এখানকার আন্ডারগ্রেডদের মতো প্রিভিলিজড না।
এপ্লাই করার আগে সিস্টেমেটিক কিছু জিনিস জেনে নেয়া দরকারি। কিভাবে এসওপি লিখবো, সিভি সাজাবো। এই জিনিসগুলো এখন হাতের কাছেই আছে। নাহয় ৭০/৮০ ডলার খরচ করে এপ্লিকেশন করাটাও বৃথা হয়ে যায় যদি কোন জায়গায় নাহয়।

আপনারা যেই ইউনিভার্সিটিতে যেতে চান তাদের প্রশ্ন করেছেন বছরে বিশ ত্রিশ লাখ টাকা নেয়, তারা গোল্ডের ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ক্লাস করায় কিনা? এত হিপোক্রেট ক্যান আপনারা?
I am writing to express my interest in joining the Bachelor of Dental Hygiene program at Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences (KVK). Growing up in Bangladesh, I witnessed how oral health is often neglected, leading to severe consequences for individuals and families. This reality became deeply personal when my mother faced significant oral health challenges due to a lack of awareness and access to preventive care. Witnessing her struggles inspired me to take action and fueled my determination to pursue a career where I can make a meaningful difference by promoting oral health awareness and providing care to those in need. After completing my Higher Secondary Certificate in 2019, my journey to higher education faced significant challenges, including the loss of my brother and my own battle with COVID-19. Despite these setbacks, I remained committed to my goals and gained valuable skills through professional experiences. These experiences have strengthened my resolve to pursue this program and work toward improving oral health outcomes, particularly for children and communities in need.
During my academic journey, I developed a strong foundation in subjects relevant to the Dental Hygiene program. I achieved good grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in both higher secondary and secondary school certificate exams. Since 1900, I have been working at Zamppa Tech, where I started as a Junior Customer Relations Associate and was later promoted to Team Lead. This role has taught me how to manage responsibilities, communicate effectively, and work as part of a team. These skills will be invaluable as I prepare to take on the Ergonomics and Teamwork, Patient's Health Behavior Correction and Management courses of the Dental Hygiene program.
I have actively participated in initiatives that reflect my commitment to health awareness and personal growth. As a volunteer with the ABC Organization since 2019, I have been involved in organizing awareness campaigns for children, including events like Hand Hygiene Day and activities focused on promoting oral hygiene among them. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the importance of education in preventive care. Additionally, I am passionate about learning new languages; I am N5 certified in Japanese and currently studying German at the B5 level. This pursuit not only broadens my communication skills but also enhances my ability to connect with diverse groups, an essential quality for a healthcare professional.
As a regular blood donor with a rare C+ blood type, I find purpose in helping others and have pledged to donate my eyes after my death. I enjoy playing badminton, traveling, and exploring cinematography, which keep me balanced and creative.
I have chosen Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences (KVK) because of its strong focus on practical education and its excellent reputation in health sciences. The Dental Hygiene program’s emphasis on community oral health promotion and the Scandinavian oral disease prevention model resonates deeply with my goal of addressing oral health challenges in underprivileged communities. I believe that the knowledge and training provided by KVK will prepare me to bring positive changes to my community. The state-of-the-art training facilities, including modern dental chairs and simulated working environments, will give me the hands-on experience needed to become a skilled dental hygienist. The integration of applied research into the curriculum is another highlight of the program. I am excited about the opportunity to participate in community-based research projects, which will allow me to understand and address real-world oral health issues. Additionally, the international exposure offered by the Erasmus+ program is an incredible opportunity. This will help me develop a more comprehensive approach to tackling oral health challenges. I am confident that KVK will provide the supportive and innovative environment I need to achieve my academic and professional goals.
My long-term career goal is to improve oral health awareness and accessibility in Bangladesh. The program’s focus on community oral health promotion and practical training aligns perfectly with my career objectives. I want to use the education I receive at KVK to create programs that educate people about proper oral hygiene and preventive care. Through campaigns and awareness drives, I have learned how education can empower people to take care of their health. The training at KVK will enhance my ability to design and implement such initiatives with greater impact. I also aspire to contribute to national health policies in the future. Using the skills gained at KVK, I hope to advocate for better access to oral health services and education in rural areas. By combining my practical training with the program’s research opportunities, I will be equipped to support meaningful changes in the healthcare system.
In conclusion, I am deeply committed to pursuing the Bachelor of Dental Hygiene program at Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences. I am confident that the education and training I receive at KVK will enable me to address the oral health challenges in Bangladesh and contribute to the well-being of underprivileged communities. Landmark events such as the 2004 friendly series and the 2011 Cricket World Cup semi-final show how sport can act as a platform for dialogue, while examples like the ban after the 2008 Mumbai attacks highlight how the weakness of these efforts in the face of the larger politics underscores problems.
The interaction of media, political leaders and public sentiment further complicates the impact of cricket communication. As evident from the findings of Bano (2023) and Chakraborty (2022), the narrative constructed around cricket tends to encourage nationalist divisions, undermining its ability to function as a unity at the same time limited by grassroots communication and shared interest in the game, as observed at the community level. suggests that cricket’s still There is potential to transcend political and sectarian barriers, and to create opportunities for people-to-people connections.
This study highlights the need for a holistic approach to cricket communication. Local gatherings and fan interactions frequently replicate a shared passion for the sport that transcends political obstacles.
