🌟 Remembering Professor Dr. Abdus Salam on His 99th Birth Anniversary 🌟

Today, we honor the legacy of Professor Dr. Abdus Salam (1926-1996), the first Pakistani and Muslim scientist to receive the Nobel Prize in Physics. A pioneer in theoretical physics, his groundbreaking contributions to the Standard Model of Particle Physics continue to shape modern science.

In 1981, Dr. Salam visited the University of Chittagong, invited by renowned physicist Professor Jamal Nazrul Islam. His visit was a moment of pride for the scientific community in Bangladesh, as he shared his knowledge and inspired young minds.

চবির ক্লাবগুলোকে নিয়ে ইনোভেশন হাবের কনফারেন্স

চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে (চবি) ইনোভেশন হাবের উদ্যোগে বিভিন্ন সামাজিক-সাংস্কৃতিক ক্লাবগুলোর প্রতিনিধিদের অংশগ্রহণে একটি ক্লাব কনফারেন্স অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। এতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রায় ৪০টি ক্লাবের প্রতিনিধি অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

রোববার (১২ জানুয়ারি) দুপুর ২টায় চবির ইনোভেশন হাব কার্যালয়ে কনফারেন্সটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

ইনোভেশন হাবের পরবর্তী ব্যাচগুলোর কার্যক্রম চালুর জন্য প্রস্তুতি নেওয়া এবং ক্লাবগুলোর সহযোগিতায় উদ্ভাবনী উদ্যোগকে আরও এগিয়ে নেওয়ার লক্ষ্যে কনফারেন্সটি আয়োজন করা হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নেওয়া ক্লাব প্রতিনিধিরা ইনোভেশন হাবের কার্যক্রম নিজেদের সংগঠনের সদস্যদের মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে ছড়িয়ে দেওয়ার আশ্বাস দেন। পাশাপাশি ইনোভেশন হাবের পরবর্তী ইভেন্টে ক্লাবগুলোর অংশগ্রহণ নিশ্চিত করতে একটি যৌথ পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয়।

কনফারেন্সে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইনোভেশন হাবের জাতীয় সমন্বয়ক এমএল খবীর। তিনি ইনোভেশন হাবের কার্যক্রমকে নতুন প্রজন্মের জন্য একটি মাইলফলক হিসেবে তুলে ধরেন। বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন ইনোভেশন হাবের ক্যাম্পাস পরিচালক ও চবি আইসিটি সেলের প্রধান অধ্যাপক সাইদুর রহমান চৌধুরি এবং ইনোভেশন হাব ম্যানেজার রাশেদুল আলম মোল্লা। কনফারেন্সটি পরিচালনা করেন চবি ইনোভেশন হাবের ক্যাম্পাস ম্যানেজার সাকিব আহমেদ।

ইনোভেশন হাবের ন্যাশনাল কো-অর্ডিনেটর জনাব এম লতিফুল খবির, এই কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে আমরা নতুন ব্যাচগুলোর জন্য একটি শক্তিশালী ভিত্তি তৈরি করতে যাচ্ছি। আমরা আশা করছি, ক্লাবগুলোর সহযোগিতায় এ উদ্যোগ শিক্ষার্থীদের দক্ষতা ও উদ্ভাবনী চিন্তা-ভাবনা বিকাশে কার্যকর ভূমিকা রাখবে।

চবি ইনোভেশন হাবের ক্যাম্পাস ম্যানেজার সাকিব আহমেদ বলেন, বিশ্বব্যাংকের অর্থায়ন এবং তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রণালয়ের সহযোগিতায় ইনোভেশন হাব এবার ৩৬টি ইনোভেটিভ আইডিয়াকে দেড় লক্ষ টাকা করে অর্থায়ন এবং উদ্যোক্তা তৈরির জন্য নির্বাচন করবে। সুতরাং একবিংশ শতাব্দীর চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবেলায় উদ্যোক্তা তৈরির এ সুযোগকে কাজে লাগাতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সকল ক্লাব ও সংগঠনের সহযোগিতা কামনা করি।

তিনি আরও বলেন, আগামী ১৭ জানুয়ারির মধ্যে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অধ্যয়নরত বা প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থী এবং শিক্ষকরা এ প্রকল্পে আবেদন করতে পারবেন। এ বিষয়ে আগামীকাল রাত ৯টায় একটি উন্মুক্ত অনলাইন সেশন আয়োজন করা হবে। আশাকরি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সংশ্লিষ্ট সবাই এই সেশনে অংশগ্রহণ করলে উপকৃত হবেন।

উল্লেখ্য, ইনোভেশন হাব বিশ্বব্যাংকের অর্থায়ন এবং বাংলাদেশ হাইটেক পার্ক অথরিটি ও তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রণালয়ের সহযোগিতায় পরিচালিত একটি প্রকল্প। যা সারাদেশে ১০টি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে উদ্যোক্তা তৈরির জন্য কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।

চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রায় ৪০টি সহশিক্ষামূলক সংগঠন নিয়ে গঠিত Chittagong University Club Alliance-এর আয়োজনে "চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রশাসনের ১০০ দিন: প্রাপ্তি ও সীমাবদ্ধতা" শীর্ষক আলোচনা সভা গত ৭ জানুয়ারি ২০২৫, মঙ্গলবার বিকেল ৩টায় সফলভাবে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

সভায় চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন সহশিক্ষামূলক সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধিরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মোঃ ইয়াহিয়া আখতার। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন চবি উপ-উপাচার্য (প্রশাসন) প্রফেসর ড. মো. কামাল উদ্দিন। এছাড়াও বক্তব্য রাখেন চবি প্রক্টর প্রফেসর ড. তানভীর মোহাম্মদ হায়দার আরিফ এবং ছাত্র-ছাত্রী পরামর্শ ও নির্দেশনা কেন্দ্রের পরিচালক ড. মো. আনোয়ার হোসেন। অনুষ্ঠানে চবি সহকারী প্রক্টর সাইদ বিন কামাল চৌধুরী স্যারও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

জুলাই বিপ্লবে শহীদ ও আহতদের প্রতি সম্মান জানিয়ে এক মিনিট নীরবতা পালনের মাধ্যমে প্রোগ্রামটি শুরু হয়। পরবর্তীতে সহশিক্ষামূলক সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধিরা তাদের সংগঠনের কার্যক্রম, আনুষ্ঠানিক পরিচিতি এবং মহান জুলাই বিপ্লবের স্মৃতিচারণ উপস্থাপন করেন।

সভায় চবি ক্লাব অ্যালায়েন্সের পক্ষ থেকে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ১০০ দিনের কার্যক্রম নিয়ে একটি রিপোর্ট চবি প্রশাসনের কাছে উপস্থাপন করা হয়।
চবি ছাত্র উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক মোঃ আনোয়ার শিক্ষার্থীদের পক্ষ থেকে নবগঠিত প্রশাসনকে অভিনন্দন জানান এবং উত্থাপিত দাবিগুলো নিয়ে কাজ করার আশ্বাস দেন। চবি প্রক্টর প্রফেসর ড. তানভীর মোহাম্মদ হায়দার আরিফ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সার্বিক পরিস্থিতি ও বাস্তবতা তুলে ধরেন।

উপ-উপাচার্য (প্রশাসন) ড. মো. কামাল উদ্দিন বলেন, "ক্লাবগুলো বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে অনেকাংশে সহায়তা করে, এবং প্রশাসন সবসময় জবাবদিহিতার মধ্যে থাকতে চায়।" তিনি আরও উল্লেখ করেন, "বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অনেক সমস্যা সমাধান হবে যদি শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের প্রতিনিধি নির্বাচন করতে পারে। এই লক্ষ্যে প্রশাসনের উদ্যোগে আজ চাকসু নিয়ে একটি মিটিং অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।"

মাননীয় উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মোঃ ইয়াহিয়া আখতার বলেন, "চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ক্লাবগুলো যদি নতুন আগত শিক্ষার্থীদের সংযুক্ত করতে পারে, তা তাদের ক্যারিয়ারের জন্য সহায়ক হবে। এ বিষয়ে প্রশাসন ক্লাবগুলোকে সর্বাত্মক সহায়তা করতে আগ্রহী।"

প্রোগ্রামটি সঞ্চালনা করেন মো. আরাফাত ইসলাম রিফাত এবং আনজুমান্দ আছেমা তামান্না।
অনুষ্ঠানে চবি ক্লাব অ্যালায়েন্সের পক্ষ থেকে চবি প্রশাসনের ১০০ দিনের কার্যক্রম নিয়ে একটি রিপোর্ট উপস্থাপন করা হয়।

চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রজীবন ও শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থাকে আরও উন্নত এবং সকলের জন্য সহজলভ্য করতে চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ক্লাব এলায়েন্স চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সংস্কার আন্দোলনের ৯ দফা দাবির প্রতি একাত্মতা প্রকাশ করছে। আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, এই দাবিগুলোর যথাযথ বাস্তবায়ন শিক্ষার্থীদের ন্যায্য অধিকার নিশ্চিত করবে এবং একটি সুষ্ঠু, নিরাপদ ও শিক্ষাবান্ধব পরিবেশ তৈরি করবে।

Chittagong University Math Club and Chittagong Astronomical Society had successfully completed 4 hours workshop "Astronomy to Academia|Exploring Astronomy and Academic Excellence".

Session Details:
The first day of the program featured a thorough study of the SOP & CV.The first session had 99 participants. It spanned two and a half hours, and our insightful lecturer highlighted several do's and don'ts.

The second workshop covered physics and mathematical applications to astronomy, and 77 participants actively participated to broaden the diversity of their thoughts. The workshop covered a wide range of topics, including sun radiation, solar theories, nanoflare, heliophysics models : numerical simulations, fluid dynamics applications, and more.

On the other hand, attendees thoroughly loved this program, which covered the essentials of physics, astronomy, mathematics, and machine learning.
