The department offers four years undergraduate program consisting of 54 courses leading to Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering to its respective graduates.The department of CSE has expanded its curriculum to graduate level by offering two years Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering. The courses offered by the department aim to:
• Equip the graduate with the skil

ls to develop software-based solutions to problems in variety of contexts;
• Offers curriculum that conforms to the highest international standards;
• Develop strong ground in all the core areas of computer science inside the students
• Emphasis on the most state-of-the-art ways of engineering software to be used in the IT industry. The department has included courses in the algorithmic foundations of computer science, introductory and advanced programming, net-centric computing, operating systems, theoretical aspects of computer science, software engineering, distributed systems, artificial intelligence and computer and information security etc. With a view to providing best possible laboratory experiences, the department has already established four (04) well-equipped laboratories with high configuration computers and devices and students are expected to deliver a high standard of practical work. There are currently 19 full-time faculty members and 13 adjunct faculty members from University of Chittagong (CU) and Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). Our faculty members are highly capable of eloquently deliberating lectures in different domain of Computer Science & Engineering. We take pride in the many advanced areas of research in which faculty and students are engaged, including Computational Intelligence, Information and Computer Security, Software Engineering and Software Architecture, Formal Methods and Computer Science. The department regularly arranges industrial visits, seminars, workshops, programming contests and programs on other extracurricular activities. The department is committed to produce graduates who are able to meet the need of academia as well as the industry and contribute to the economic growth of the nation. Our vision here is to groom our students to their fullest potential and hence to become a school of excellence that brings out computer engineers with high technical competencies who can make a difference in this era of achieving sustainability in every sphere of life.

All candidates are hereby instructed to campaign in accordance with the club’s election guidelines and maintain the spirit of fairness, cooperation, and professionalism throughout the election process.

Members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the candidates and their symbols before the upcoming election day to ensure a smooth and transparent voting experience.

সবার অবগতির জন্য জানানো যাচ্ছে যে, PCIU Computer Club-এর ৩য় এক্সিকিউটিভ কমিটি (২০২৫–২০২৬ সেশন) গঠন উপলক্ষে প্রথমবারের মতো আগামী ২৫শে অক্টোবর ২০২৫ তারিখে এক্সিকিউটিভ কমিটি নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। এই নির্বাচনের মাধ্যমে ক্লাবের ভবিষ্যৎ নেতৃত্ব নির্বাচন করা হবে, যা ক্লাবের উন্নয়ন, উদ্ভাবন ও ঐক্যের ধারাকে আরও বেগবান করবে।

Students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Port City International University, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Army and with the support of the university authorities, have undertaken a relief initiative to provide light food to flood-affected regions. Distribution efforts are focused on করেরহাট, হাবিলদার বাড়ি, শুভপুর ,মুহুরীর বাড়ি ,অলি নগর, মধুপুর, ছাগলনাইয়া, পশ্চিম জোয়ার, পূর্ব জোয়ার, দিয়ারপাড়া, বরইয়া, বাস স্ট্যান্ড ফেণী, ভল্লপপুর and several other locations in Mirshorai. This initiative reflects the PCIU Computer Club is steadfast commitment to aiding communities in distress during these difficult times.

A monitoring team from IQAC, PCIU visited the Department of CSE, along with other departments, to ensure proper academic documentation management. The monitoring team consisted of the Director of IQAC, Prof. Dr. Engr. Mafzal Ahmed; the Additional Director of IQAC, Associate Prof. Dr. Syed Anayet Karim; and other IQAC team members and officials. The visit aimed to enhance the quality of academic processes and ensure compliance with institutional standards. The team conducted thorough evaluations and provided valuable feedback for continuous improvement.
