In this series we are learning about medicinal uses of different plant. So today we are going to learn about constiutent present in Spearmint along with their uses, which is as follows:
Spearmint
Biological Source: Mentha spicata
mainly found in European and Asian countries, cultivated in
USA,Bangladesh, China and Indoneasia.
Chemical Constituent:
1. Volatile oil e.g. Carvone, limonene
2. Resin
3. Tannin
Uses:
1. Flavoring agent
2. Carminative(relieving flatulence.)
3. Digestive
4. Spasmolytic(able to relieve spasm of smooth muscle)
5. Diuretic( causing increased passing of urine)
6. Fever, Vomiting, bronchitis
