This is what it looks like when we show up for our community. ✨
At the most recent NCHEP conference, our Director, Tommasina Faratro, took the stage as part of a panel on Data-Driven Academic Reentry to share the story of Project Impact @ BMCC — what we do and how we create pathways from college-in-prison to post-incarceration.
This clip is more than a conference moment. It's a glimpse into the heart of who we are: a team committed to creating real, lasting impact for the students and communities we serve.
If our work resonates with you, follow along, spread the word, and support our mission. Every share, every follow, every voice counts. 💙

A moment worth another look.
Project Impact @ BMCC was honored to welcome Congressman Dan Goldman to campus as he announced $357,000 in Community Project Funding to support our program and the justice-impacted students we serve. This investment expands opportunities for education, stability, and new futures built through learning and community.
We are grateful to leaders who believe in the potential of our students and in the power of second chances.
Follow along to see how Project Impact @ BMCC continues to create pathways for success.
Art. Technology. Energy. Possibility. ✨
Our students recently visited Mercer Labs, where immersive spaces brought systems thinking to life and sparked real conversations about climate impact, infrastructure, and New York City’s clean energy future.
Thank you to Empire Wind and the Empire Wind Small Community Grants Program for making this experience possible and for investing in opportunities that connect our students to the growing offshore wind industry.
At Project Impact @ BMCC, we believe learning should expand perspective and open doors. Experiences like this help our students see themselves in the future we are building. 🌎💡

Philly through the lens of Project Impact @ BMCC 💙
This trip was about more than sightseeing; it was about expanding horizons, building community, and seeing what’s possible. From touring Temple University and attending a climate change lecture to sharing meals and meaningful conversations, our students experienced college life beyond the classroom.
A special thank you to Empire Wind for making this trip possible and for supporting our students in tangible ways, including providing meals throughout the visit. Their commitment to educating students about climate change and sustainability made that classroom moment at Temple even more powerful.
At Project Impact @ BMCC, our mission is to create access, opportunity, and belonging. Experiences like this embody that mission, exposure builds confidence, and confidence drives growth. ✨

From visiting Temple University and exploring new academic pathways, to learning about Philadelphia’s rich history through a guided tour, this trip was about more than travel; it was about exposure, possibility, and expanding horizons. Experiences like these embody our mission: creating access, building confidence, and helping students see themselves in spaces they may not have imagined before.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to share meals, meaningful conversations, and moments of discovery together—and to our generous sponsors who made this experience possible. Thank you for believing in our students and investing in their growth.
New city. New perspective. Same commitment to building futures full of possibility.

At Project Impact @ BMCC, our work is grounded in five core pillars—each designed to support students not just in the classroom, but in life. From outreach and partnerships to academic support, basic needs assistance, peer mentorship, and building true community and belonging, everything we do is centered on helping students thrive on their own terms. This is what support looks like. 💙

Finals: done. 👏
To our Project Impact @ BMCC students, congratulations on pushing through the long nights, big deadlines, and everything in between. As winter break begins, take this time to rest, reset, and recharge. You’ve earned it, and we’ll be right here when you’re ready to keep moving forward. 💙❄️
Another look at the incredible guests who joined our recent panel. We were deeply moved by their honesty, resilience, and willingness to share stories that remind us there’s no single path to success. We’re so grateful for a community that shows up, shares generously, and lifts one another along the way. As we move through the holiday season, we remain committed to honoring every part of our community and nurturing the kindness, growth, and possibility that make this work meaningful. 💛
