EcoAstroBD জ্যোতির্বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতা-২০২৬ (পাইলট আয়োজন)
Title: “যুক্তির আলোয় জ্যোতির্বিজ্ঞান”
On 5 June 2026, EcoAstroBD an initiative taken by Sheikh Sami and funded by IAU Office of Astronomy for Development in collaboration with the Model Debating Society- MDS, successfully organized the EcoAstroBD জ্যোতির্বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতা-২০২৬ (পাইলট আয়োজন). The event was conducted in a highly organized, disciplined, and engaging manner, bringing together students, educators, and debate enthusiasts for an inspiring exchange of ideas on astronomy and critical thinking.
The program was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Md. Abdul Latif, Acting Head Teacher of Government Model Girls' High School, Brahmanbaria. Special Guest Kamrul Alam Khan also graced the occasion with his valuable presence.
The judging panel consisted of Mohammad Mostakim Khan, Senior Bangla Teacher of Government Model Girls' High School; Mohammad Toibur Rahman, Senior English Teacher; and invited judge Abu Naser Shah Mohammad Maruf Ahmed, Vice President of Sylhet Debate Federation and former President of SUST School of Debate.
The audience was also addressed by the Project Facilitator & Consultant (PF&C), EcoAstroBD. The event was presided over by Sheikh Samia Akter Sami
Founder and Director,EcoAstroBD.
The entire program was skillfully hosted by Arpa Mitra Bhoumik, a student of Class 10 (Section B) at Government Model Girls' High School and President of Model Debating Society (MDS).
With enthusiastic participation, insightful arguments, and seamless management, the event concluded successfully, marking a significant step toward promoting scientific curiosity, logical reasoning, and debate culture among students.
