We are excited to announce that we will be conducting field visit at the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) in Cumilla. This invaluable experience will take place on the 29th of February, 2024.

This field work presents a unique opportunity for hands-on learning and practical application of sociological principles in a rural development setting. It is a chance for us to observe, analyze, and contribute to the vital work being done at BARD.

ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাজবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের ২০১ (প্রথম) ব্যাচের ছাত্র মহিউদ্দিন সফলতার সাথে রিসার্চ মনোগ্রাফের সম্পূর্ণ কাজ সমাপ্ত করে বিভাগের নিয়মানুযায়ী উক্ত গবেষণা উপস্থাপন করেছে। তার গবেষণার বিষয় ছিলো:
"Issues and Difficulties Associated with Male Migration and Newly
Formed Families Headed by Women."
গবেষণা উপস্থাপনায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সম্মানিত কোষাধ্যক্ষ এবং উপাচার্য (ভারপ্রাপ্ত) এবং সামাজিক বিজ্ঞান অনুষদের ডীন প্রফেসর ফাহিমা খাতুন। আরো উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অন্যান্য সকল অনুষদের সম্মানিত ডীন মহোদয়গণ এবং সমাজবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের সম্মানিত শিক্ষকবৃন্দ। ভবিষ্যৎ প্রস্তুতির ধারণা নেয়ার অংশ স্বরুপ ব্যাচ ২১১ এবং ২১২ উপস্থিত ছিলো। অত্যন্ত সফলতার সাথে স্নাতক সম্পন্ন করায় মহিউদ্দিনকে সমাজবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের পক্ষ থেকে অভিনন্দন। তার উজ্জ্বল এবং সাফল্যমন্ডিত ভবিষ্যতের জন্য শুভকামনা।

আমাদের অনেকেরই এই ভূল ধারণা রয়েছে যে প্রাইভেট বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশুনা করা মানেই অনেক টাকা খরচ করতে হয়। চলুন জেনে আসি বিস্তারিত।
ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় দিচ্ছে অন্যান্য অনেক বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে কম খরচে গ্রাজুয়েশন সম্পন্ন করার সুযোগ। যেখানে কিনা দেশের অন্যান্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে বেশ বড় পরিমান অর্থ খরচ করতে হয়, সেখানে ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে সমাজবিজ্ঞান বিভাগে আপনি ১,৮২,১০০ টাকায় গ্রাজুয়েশন সম্পন্ন করতে পারবেন এবং পুরো ৪ বছরে ৮টি ( প্রতি সেমিস্টারে ১৬ থেকে ১৮ হাজার টাকা ) সেমিস্টারে ২৪টি ইন্সটলমেন্টের মাধ্যমে পরিশোধ করতে পারবেন। এছাড়াও রয়েছে ১০-১০০% পর্যন্ত বৃত্তির ব্যবস্থা। এক্ষেত্রে, ছাত্রছাত্রীদের এস.এস.সি এবং এইচ. এস. সি এর রেজাল্টের উপর, মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সন্তানদের জন্য, নারী শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য, সহোদর ভাই-বোনের জন্য, প্রতিবন্ধীদের জন্য রয়েছে এসব বৃত্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থা। এছাড়াও প্রতি সেমিস্টারে সন্তোষজনক ফলাফল অর্জনের মাধ্যমে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃক বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়, যেখানে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা তাদের টিউশন ফি থেকে অনেক বড় একটা অংশ ছাড় পেয়ে থাকে।
এতো কম খরচে গ্রাজুয়েশন সম্পন্ন করা সম্ভব! তাহলে শিক্ষার মান নিয়ে প্রশ্ন আসতেই পারে! এক্ষেত্রে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ আপনাদের আস্বস্ত করতে চায় যে, ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষার মানের ক্ষেত্রে আপোসহীন। শিক্ষার মানোন্নয়নে সর্বোচ্চ চেষ্টা করে যাচ্ছে এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। সমাজবিজ্ঞান বিভাগে রয়েছে একদল দক্ষ শিক্ষক প্যানেল যারা দেশ ও দেশের বাইরের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে পড়াশুনা সম্পূর্ণ করে এখানে শিক্ষকতা করছে। তাই, ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাজবিজ্ঞান বিভাগ হতে পারে আপনার জীবনকে গড়ে তোলার পরবর্তী সোপান।

সমাজবিজ্ঞানে পড়াশোনা ও চাকরির সুযোগ : সমাজবিজ্ঞানের সূচনালগ্ন থেকেই সমাজের গতিশীলতা,সমৃদ্ধি ও উন্নয়নে ভূমিকা রেখেছে। সময় পাল্টেছে,এখন যেকোন একটি বিষয়ে একাডেমিক ডিগ্রি অর্জন করলেই যথেষ্ট নয়। একই সঙ্গে ধারণা থাকতে হয় বিষয়ভিত্তিক চাকরির বাজারের হালচাল সম্পর্কে আর্থসামাজিক প্রেক্ষাপট ও বর্তমান চাকরির বাজারে সমাজবিজ্ঞানে স্নাতক ডিগ্রিধারীদের চাহিদা ক্রমেই বেড়ে চলেছে। বর্তমান বিশ্বে সমাজবিজ্ঞানে পড়াশোনা শেষে আছে বিভিন্ন কর্মের হাতছানি। যার প্রমাণ হিসেবে আমরা দেখতে পাই সমাজবিজ্ঞানে ইউরোপ, উত্তর আমেরিকা, অস্ট্রেলিয়া, জাপান প্রভূতি সহ অনেক উন্নত দেশে স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর পর্যায়ে উচ্চশিক্ষার ব্যাপক সুযোগ রয়েছে। একই সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশও সমানতালে পাল্লা দিয়ে চলেছে। চলুন জেনে আসি কি ধরণের চাকরির সুবিধা রয়েছে।

ব্রাহ্মণবাড়ীয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এর সমাজবিজ্ঞান বিভাগ কর্তৃক "ক্রিমিনোলজি" কোর্সের অধীনে কিশোর অপরাধের ধরন, কারণ, সংশোধন ব্যবস্থা এবং কিশোর অপরাধের চিত্র শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে উপস্থাপনের জন্য উক্ত কোর্স শিক্ষক জনাব আরমান শরীফ জীবন স্যারের তত্তাবধানে ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার গুনীজনদের থেকে সাক্ষাৎকার গ্রহন করা হয়। উক্ত সাক্ষাৎকারে সহযোগিতা করেন ব্রাহ্মণবাড়ীয়া সদর থানার বর্তমান অফিসার ইন চার্জ জনাব আসলাম হোসাইন, ব্রাহ্মণবাড়ীয়া জেলা জজ আদালত এর সিনিয়র এডভোকেট জনাব মাহবুবুল আলম খোকন এবং ব্রাহ্মণবাড়ীয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সম্মানিত পরীক্ষা নিয়ন্ত্রক প্রফেসর মেরাজুল ইসলাম।

ভর্তি চলছে
ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া (ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়)য় “স্প্রিং - ২০২৪ (SPRING -2024)” সেশনে নিম্নোক্ত প্রোগ্রাম সমূহে ভর্তি চলছে:

◑ ENGLISH ◑ MBA
◑ M.A in ENGLISH
◑ PGD in Library and Information Science

ভর্তি ফি হতে ২০% ও উন্নয়ন ফিতে ২০% ছাড়ে ভর্তি চলছে। তাছাড়াও রয়েছে EEE তে ৩০% এবং Library and Information Science এ ২৫ % টিউশন ফি মওকুফ। মেধাভিত্তিক ১০০% পর্যন্ত স্কলারশিপ ও ওয়েবার প্রদানের সুযোগ রয়েছে। Female শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য টিউশন ফি এর ১০% মওকুফ, সিবলিং(সহোদর) এর জন্য ২৫-৩০% মওকুফ, একসঙ্গে পাঁচজন শিক্ষার্থী ভর্তি হলে কর্পোরেট ওয়েবারের সুবিধা পাবেন। EEE এবং CSE – তে ভর্তি ইচ্ছুক ডিপ্লোমা সম্পন্নকারীদের জন্য রয়েছে বিশেষ সুবিধা।
SSC এবং HSC তে গোল্ডেন A+ প্রাপ্তদের জন্য ১০০% ও শুধু A+ প্রাপ্তদের জন্য ৫০% টিউশন ফি মওকুফ।

Department of Sociology Social Solidarity Club has organised it’s 1st picnic "Sociology Social Solidarity Day" on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Medda, Brahmanbaria. This gathering program held on the purpose of blooming and development of students. All the students enjoyed this picnic in that open space, playing a variety of games, gossiping and whole day recitative activities. Faculty members and students from different batches were spontaneously participated in this program.

We are pleased to declare that the next Sociology Study Circle session will feature a pleasant gathering program hosted by the University of Brahmanbaria Social Solidarity Club. Under the title of ‘Sociology Social Solidarity Day’, this gathering program will be held on November 6th, Monday, at Medda, Brahmanbaria. Along with enjoying the beauty of the upcoming winter season in that beautiful open space, playing a variety of games, gossiping, and taking in the taste of various cuisines will be part of that program. The journey will start from the campus at 9.30 a.m. All the students of the Department of Sociology are invited to participate in that program to make it more colorful and enjoyable.

The University of Brahmanbaria Social Solidarity Club has organized its second session of the Sociology Study Circle on Sunday, August 27, 2023. In the month of mourning, this club tried to arrange the circle from a different perspective, and so on, it focused on our glorious history of the Liberation War. It organized the discussion on the issue মুক্তিযুদ্ধে বাংলাদেশ ও স্বাধীনতা পরবর্তী পটপরিবর্তন , based on the title 'পাঠচক্রে মুক্তিযুদ্ধ'. Though the honorable faculty members started the discussion with references to some books, students from various batches spontaneously discussed various issues and stories they heard from freedom fighters. Most interestingly, students asked some questions that reflect the present socio-economic and political thinking of this generation. It was a fruitful session where both the faculty and the students were able to share their ideas, opinions, and viewpoints on the glorious and pathetic history of their nation.
