The Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Brahmanbaria (UoB) congratulates Professor Fahima Khatun on her appointment as UoB's treasurer. Professor Fahima Khatun is a well-known academician and educational expert in the government education sector. She was previously the Director General (Grade 1) of Bangladesh's Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education.

ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া (ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়)য় উপাচার্য হিসেবে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভূতত্ত্ব ও খনিবিদ্যা বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. সৈয়দ সামসুদ্দিন আহমেদ। ইতিপূর্বে তিনি জামালপুরের বঙ্গমাতা শেখ ফজিলাতুন্নেছা মুজিব বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতি ও চ্যান্সেলর এর অনুমোদনক্রমে মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ শিক্ষা বিভাগের যুগ্মসচিব মো: মাহমুদুল আলম স্বাক্ষরিত প্রজ্ঞাপনে বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আইন, ২০১০ এর ৩১(১) ধারা অনুযায়ী যোগদানের তারিখ হতে পরবর্তী ০৪ (চার) বছরের জন্য তাকে এ নিয়োগ প্রদান করা হয়। তিনি ০১ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৪, বৃহস্পতিবার ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ায় উপাচার্য হিসেবে যোগদান করেছেন। গত ০৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৪, শনিবার সকাল ১১.০০ টায় ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজ এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা চেয়ারম্যান, গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের গৃহায়ন ও গণপূর্ত মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় মন্ত্রী জনাব র আ ম উবায়দুল মোকতাদিও চৌধুরী এমপি এবং ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার ট্রেজারার, মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তরের সাবেক মহাপরিচালক (গ্রেড-১) প্রফেসর ফাহিমা খাতুন তাকে ফুলেল শুভেচ্ছা দিয়ে বরণ করে নেন। এসময় ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রেজিষ্ট্রার,ডীন, ফ্যাকাল্টি মেম্বার এবং কর্মকর্তাগণ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
প্রফেসর ড. সৈয়দ সামসুদ্দিন আহমেদ রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে ভূতত্ত্ব ও খনিবিদ্যা বিভাগ থেকে স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর সম্পন্ন করে ভারতের যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে পিএইচডি ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন। ১৯৮৩ সালে তিনি রাজশাহী বিশবিদ্যালয়ে প্রভাষক পদে যোগ দেন এবং ১৯৯৯ সালে অধ্যাপক পদে উন্নীত হন। দীর্ঘ শিক্ষকতা জীবনে তিনি রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে সিন্ডিকেট সদস্য, সিনেট সদস্য, প্রভোস্ট প্রেস প্রশাসক, ভূতত্ত্ব ও খনিবিদ্যা বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধানসহ বিভিন্ন প্রশাসনিক দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। এছাড়াও তিনি ২০০৯ সাল থেকে ২০১৬ সাল পর্যন্ত বড়পুকুরিয়া কয়লা খনি কোম্পানিতে পরিচালক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন।
