শিক্ষকতা পেশা হলেও চাকুরি নয়। চাকুরিতে শ্রম থাকলেও বিশ্রাম আছে। শিক্ষকদের বিশ্রাম নেই। শিক্ষকতা একটি নেশা। এ নেশা জ্ঞান অর্জন,সৃষ্টি ও বিতরণের। এ নেশা স্বপ্ন দর্শন ও প্রদর্শনের। সে সঙ্গে মানুষ গড়ার মধ্য দিয়ে ওই স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়নের। এ নেশা শিক্ষার্থীদের ভালোবাসা ও কল্যাণ কামনার। কৃষক আর শ্রমিকের মতো শিক্ষকও যুগপৎ চাষী ও শ্রমিক। তার মাঠ আর ফ্যাক্টরি হলো শ্রেণিকক্ষ। তিনি জ্ঞানের লাঙ্গল চষেন। স্বপ্নের বীজ বোনেন। উৎপাদন করেন স্বপ্নবাজ আলোকিত মানুষ।
