On 18–19 May 2026, the Centre for Peace and Justice, BRAC University, in collaboration with SURGE Bangladesh, successfully conducted the two-day ‘𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥s of P𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬’ for the third cohort 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 ‘𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐏𝐀𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐀)’ project, as part of the 'Peace Champions Fellowship' programme.

Through dialogue, collaborative reflection, interactive activities, and shared experiences, 𝟮𝟮 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 of the fellowship programme from 𝗡𝗼𝗮𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗻𝗶 conceptualised about community realities, leadership, inclusion, and coexistence. The sessions fostered a space for critical thinking and shared learning, strengthening the participants' roles as emerging Peace Champions and proactive community changemakers.

As this third cohort of participants begins its journey, we are hopeful about the energy, courage, and commitment these young leaders are carrying back to their communities!

This initiative (PAHELA) is part of the Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) Programme, implemented with technical support from GFA Consulting Group, and funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, High Commission of Canada to Bangladesh, and the European Union in Bangladesh.

Through dialogue, storytelling, interactive activities, and collaborative reflection, 𝟐𝟐 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 of the fellowship programme from 𝐂𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 explored community realities, leadership, inclusion, and pathways toward peaceful and resilient communities. The sessions created a shared space for critical thinking, empathy, and collective responsibility, encouraging participants to see themselves not only as learners but also as changemakers.
