🚨 DARK HOLE SAFETY ALERT 🚨
I’m speaking on behalf of the residents of St. Sylvan (Dark Hole) who have been cut off and left unsafe due to the recent road and bridge closures.
The closure of the Saddle Back bridge has made it dangerous—almost impossible—for us to travel safely.
There is no lighting, no houses nearby, and long stretches of deserted road. In a time when Barbados is facing increased robberies and violent incidents, this is unacceptable.
This is a serious safety risk.
Residents—including school children, a stroke survivor, and vulnerable commuters—are now expected to walk or wait for transport in pitch-black, isolated areas. This is how tragedies happen.
We urgently call on the authorities to implement a shuttle service or alternative transport for Dark Hole residents before something goes wrong—not after.
Dark Hole has been overlooked for too long:
• Transport cut off
• Garbage uncollected
• Frequent water & electricity outages
• Essential services bypassing our area
We are tax-paying citizens and registered voters who deserve the same safety and consideration as every other Barbadian.
We’re simply asking for action, fairness, and basic protection.
