Sarajevo Plans New Wartime Siege Museum :: Balkan Insight A park in the city centre has been set aside for the construction of a multimedia museum dedicated to the city’s siege by Bosnian Serb forces between 1992 and 1995.
We have been hard at work putting together a series of videos from the Program and are happy to announce that we are now going to be periodically releasing them via Youtube.

Dan Damon is a BBC journalist and radio broadcaster who presents World Update for the BBC World Service. Damon joined the BBC in 1974 as a technical operator for radio news. His move into journalism took place in 1982 with a nightly phone in on LBC. Damon, with his wife Sian, spent seven years filming the downfall of the Soviet Union throughout Eastern Europe including Bosnia and Herzegovina. He then returned to the BBC to work as a presenter and reporter for BBC World Service and BBC Radio 4. In 2003 Damon became the main presenter of World Update on the BBC World Service. Damon has presented the program on location around the world. Given the depth and breadth of Dan’s global journalistic experience, Balkan Institute and the Geneva School of Diplomacy were honored to have him join Author Robert Wilton, Dr. Nena Tromp, Dr. Obrad Savic and Dr. Bill Wechsler on the closing panel of Sarajevo ’14 to share his thoughtful perspectives on “June 28,1914 and the future.”

Professor Mahmutćehajić is a Bosnian academic, author and former statesman. The foremost advocate of Bosnia as a historical community constituted out of confessional diversity, he is an internationally recognised scholar of the Muslim intellectual tradition, considered as a branch of religio perennis. His books include On Love in the Islamic Tradition, The Mosque: Heart of Submission, and On the Other: a Muslim View.
