Building Stronger Defence Diplomacy at PSOTC
The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) successfully delivered the Defence Attaché Orientation Course in Defence and Diplomacy from 03–10 June 2026 in Sarajevo, bringing together 27 participants from 8 countries.
Throughout the course, participants strengthened their knowledge of defence diplomacy, diplomatic protocol, security policy, and intercultural communication, while engaging with experts and building valuable international networks.
PSOTC extends its appreciation to key partners, particularly the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) and the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for their continued cooperation and support.
By strengthening defence diplomacy, we reinforce mutual understanding, build trust among nations, and contribute to collective security and stability.

Јачање одбрамбене дипломатије у ЦООПМ-у
Центар за обуку за операције подршке миру (ЦООПМ) успјешно је реализовао Оријентацијски курс за војне аташее у одбрани и дипломатији, који је одржан од 03. до 10. јуна 2026. године у Сарајеву, окупивши 27 учесника из 8 земаља.
Током курса, учесници су унапредили своја знања из области одбрамбене дипломатије, дипломатског протокола, безбједносне политике и интеркултуралне комуникације, кроз рад са стручњацима и изградњу вриједних међународних професионалних мрежа.
ЦООПМ изражава захвалност кључним партнерима, посебно Женевском центру за безбједносну политику (GCSP) и Амбасади Републике Аустрије у Босни и Херцеговини на континуираној сарадњи и подршци.
Јачањем одбрамбене дипломатије, унапређујемо међусобно разумијевање, градимо повјерење међу државама и доприносимо заједничкој безбједности и стабилности.

➡️The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) successfully hosted the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) Orientation Course in Sarajevo from 1 to 5 June 2026, bringing together 25 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 12 partner countries. The diverse participation highlighted a strong commitment to international cooperation and shared learning in the field of security and defence.
➡️Organised by the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) in partnership with PSOTC, the Austrian National Defence Academy, and the Austrian Centre for Peace, the course provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the EU’s CSDP framework. Key topics included the EU’s integrated approach, planning and conduct of civilian and military missions, institutional roles, and current developments shaping the policy.
➡️Throughout the week, participants actively engaged in discussions, group work, and practical exercises, strengthening both their professional knowledge and international networks. The course served not only as an educational platform but also as a space for exchanging experiences and best practices among practitioners.

➡️Centar za obuku za operacije podrške miru (PSOTC) uspješno je ugostio Orijentacijski kurs o Zajedničkoj sigurnosnoj i odbrambenoj politici (CSDP) u Sarajevu od 1. do 5. juna 2026. godine, okupivši 25 učesnika iz Bosne i Hercegovine i 12 partnerskih zemalja. Raznovrsno učešće potvrdilo je snažnu posvećenost međunarodnoj saradnji i zajedničkom učenju u oblasti sigurnosti i odbrane.
➡️Kurs je organizovan od strane Evropskog koledža za sigurnost i odbranu (ESDC) u partnerstvu sa PSOTC-om, Austrijskom nacionalnom akademijom odbrane i Austrijskim centrom za mir. Program je pružio učesnicima sveobuhvatan pregled okvira CSDP-a Evropske unije, uključujući integrisani pristup EU, planiranje i provođenje civilnih i vojnih misija, uloge institucija, kao i aktuelne trendove i razvoj politike.
➡️Tokom sedmice, učesnici su aktivno participirali u diskusijama, grupnom radu i praktičnim vježbama, unapređujući svoje stručno znanje i jačajući međunarodne profesionalne veze. Kurs je predstavljao ne samo edukativnu platformu, već i prostor za razmjenu iskustava i najboljih praksi među stručnjacima iz oblasti CSDP-a.

➡️On 19 May 2026, the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH) hosted a distinguished delegation from the Maryland National Guard (MDNG), led by Brigadier General Craig Hunter, Director of the Joint Staff of MDNG.
Alongside Colonel Gregory Holmes, U.S. Defence Attaché to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and representatives of the Office of Defence Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy, the delegation conducted a productive visit to strengthen ongoing cooperation.
Colonel Damir Alibašić, Commandant of PSOTC, warmly welcomed the guests and outlined the Centre’s mission, achievements, and internationally recognised role in advancing global peace support operations.
The discussions highlighted opportunities to enhance cooperation, particularly by expanding training for officers and non-commissioned officers and strengthening professional military education.
This visit reaffirms the long-standing and successful partnership between AF BiH and MDNG, built over more than two decades, thereby contributing to interoperability, capability development, and the promotion of regional and global peace.

➡️Центар за обуку за операције подршке миру (ЦООПМ) Оружаних снага Босне и Херцеговине угостио је 19. маја 2026. године делегацију Националне гарде Мериленда, коју је предводио бригадни генерал Крејг Хантер, директор Заједничког штаба Националне гарде.
У пратњи бригадира Грегорија Холмса, војног аташеа САД у Босни и Херцеговини, те представника Канцеларије за одбрамбену сарадњу Амбасаде САД, посјета је протекла у духу конструктивног дијалога и јачања сарадње.
Бригадир Дамир Алибаšiћ, командант ЦООПМ-а, са сарадницима је срдачно дочекао делегацију и представио мисију, активности и кључна достигнућа Центра, наглашавајући његову међународно препознату улогу у систему операција подршке миру.
Током разговора истакнуте су могућности за даље унапређење сарадње, посебно у области индивидуалне обуке официра и подофицира, као и развоја професионалног војног образовања.
Ова посјета представља наставак снажног партнерства између Оружаних снага БиХ и Националне гарде Мериленда, које траје више од двије деценије и доприноси развоју способности, интероперабилности и очувању регионалне и глобалне безбједности.

FPS UNSA Students Visit PSOTC

Sarajevo, 07 May 2026

In support of academic instruction under the Peace Operations and Humanitarian Interventions module, 17 third-year students from the Department for Security and Peace Studies, Faculty of Political Science, University of Sarajevo (FPS UNSA) visited the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH).
The visit was organized as a practical activity aimed at improving students’ understanding of the dynamics of peace operations in real operational environments. Through several interactive sessions, PSOTC staff shared knowledge and practical experience from NATO, UN, and EU-led missions, successfully bridging theory and practice.
At the conclusion of the visit, Colonel Damir Alibašić, Commandant of PSOTC, expressed his sincere appreciation to Professor Veldin Kadić for the continued cooperation and partnership between PSOTC and FPS UNSA.



Studenti Fakulteta političkih znanosti Sveučilišta u Sarajevu u posjeti SOOPM-u

Sarajevo, 07 svibanj 2026.
U cilju potpore akademskoj nastavi u okviru modula Mirovne operacije i humanitarne intervencije, 17 studenata treće godine s Odsjeka za sigurnosne i mirovne studije, Fakulteta političkih znanosti Sveučilišta u Sarajevu posjetilo je Središte za obuku u operacijama potpore miru (SOOPM) Oružanih snaga Bosne i Hercegovine (OS BiH).
Posjet je organiziran kao praktična aktivnost s ciljem unapređenja razumijevanja dinamike mirovnih operacija u stvarnom operativnom okruženju. Kroz nekoliko interaktivnih sesija, pripadnici SOOPM podijelili su znanja i praktična iskustva stečena u NATO, UN i EU vođenim operacijama, čime je uspješno povezana teorija s praksom.
Na završetku posjeta, brigadir Damir Alibašić, zapovjednik SOOPM a, izrazio je iskrenu zahvalnost profesoru Veldinu Kadiću na dosadašnjoj suradnji i partnerstvu između SOOPM i Fakulteta političkih znanosti Sveučilišta u Sarajevu.

The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the Sixth NATO Education, Training, Exercises and Evaluation (ETEE) Annual Discipline Conference (ADC) 2026, held from 28 to 30 April 2026.
The conference brought together representatives from across the NATO ETEE community to review and update education and training requirements, assess existing programmes, identify capability gaps, and discuss future-oriented solutions aligned with evolving operational needs. Education and training were highlighted as essential enablers of interoperability, readiness, and operational effectiveness.
By hosting this NATO event, PSOTC once again demonstrated its strong commitment to supporting NATO training objectives, strengthening multinational cooperation, and contributing to the continuous improvement of education and training in support of international security.

𝐂𝐎𝐎𝐏𝐌 𝐮𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨 š𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐮 𝐠𝐨𝐝𝐢š𝐧𝐣𝐮 𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐮 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐎 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐳𝐚 𝐨𝐛𝐮𝐤𝐮 𝐢 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐮 „𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚, 𝐨𝐛𝐮𝐤𝐚, 𝐯𝐣𝐞ž𝐛𝐞 𝐢 𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚“

Centar za obuku za operacije podrške miru (COOPM) Oružanih snaga Bosne i Hercegovine (OS BiH) bio je domaćin šeste godišnje konferencije NATO discipline za obuku i edukaciju „Edukacija, obuka, vježbe i evaluacija“, održane u periodu od 28. do 30. aprila 2026. godine.
Konferencija je okupila predstavnike iz NATO zajednice orijentisane na edukaciju, obuku. vježbe i evaluaciju s ciljem razmatranja i ažuriranja zahtjeva u oblasti eduakcije i obuke, evaluacije postojećih programa, identifikacije nedostataka u sposobnostima, te diskusije o budućim rješenjima usklađenim s promjenjivim operativnim potrebama. Edukacija i obuka su istaknuti kao ključni omogućavajući faktori interoperabilnosti, spremnosti i operativne efikasnosti.
Organizacijom ovog NATO događaja, COOPM je još jednom potvrdio svoju snažnu posvećenost podršci NATO ciljevima, jačanju multinacionalne saradnje i kontinuiranom unapređenju edukacije i obuke u cilju doprinosa međunarodnoj sigurnosti.

𝐔𝐆𝐏𝐒𝐎𝐂 𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐔𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐒𝐎𝐓𝐂

The Utility of Gender in Peace Support Operations Course (UGPSOC) has successfully concluded at PSOTC.

From 20–24 April, we welcomed 32 participants from 16 countries, who worked alongside experienced instructors and guest lecturers to explore how gender perspectives strengthen Peace Support Operations.

During the opening ceremony, Brigadier General Dr. Jasmin Čajić highlighted how integrating gender perspectives directly supports mission effectiveness, protects civilians, and builds trust and credibility on the ground.

Designed for military, police, and civilian professionals, UGPSOC combined lectures, group discussions, case studies, and practical activities to turn concepts into real operational tools.

Once again, this course confirms PSOTC’s role as a regional and international training hub and reflects the strong commitment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to inclusive security and international cooperation.



𝐙𝐚𝐯𝐫š𝐞𝐧 „𝐓𝐞č𝐚𝐣 𝐨 𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐨𝐣 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐤𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢 𝐮 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐮” 𝐮 𝐒𝐎𝐎𝐏𝐌-𝐮

Tečaj o rodnoj perspektivi u operacijama potpore miru (UGPSOC) uspješno je završen u Središtu za obuku za operacije potpore miru (SOOPM).

U razdoblju od 20. do 24. travnja, ugostili smo 32 sudionika iz 16 zemalja, koji su zajedno s iskusnim instruktorima i gostujućim predavačima istraživali kako rodna perspektiva doprinosi efikasnosti operacija potpore miru.

Tijekom svečane ceremonije otvaranja tečaja, brigadni general dr. Jasmin Čajić istaknuo je da integracija rodne perspektive izravno doprinosi učinkovitosti misija, zaštiti civila te izgradnji povjerenja i vjerodostojnosti na terenu.

Namijenjen pripadnicima oružanih snaga, policije i civilima, ovaj tečaj omogućava da se teorijska znanja stečena kroz predavanja, grupne rasprave, studije slučaja i druge praktične aktivnosti pretvore u konkretne operativne alate.

Realiziranjem tečaja o rodnoj perspektivi u operacijama potpore miru još jednom je potvrđena uloga PSOTC-a kao regionalnog i međunarodnog središta za obuku te snažnu opredijeljenost Oružanih snaga Bosne i Hercegovine za inkluzivnu sigurnost i međunarodnu suradnju.

Maryland National Guard Regional Training Institute Visits PSOTC

The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) welcomed a delegation from the Maryland National Guard Regional Training Institute, led by Lieutenant Colonel Jess Green, continuing a partnership with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina that spans more than two decades.
The delegation was joined by representatives from the Office of Defence Cooperation of the U.S. Embassy in BiH, NATO HQ Sarajevo Command Sergeant Major, and the AF BiH Command Sergeant Major.
During the visit, PSOTC Commandant Colonel Damir Alibašić outlined the Centre’s mission, international engagement, and key education and training activities. Discussions also addressed future cooperation, with a focus on individual training opportunities for both NCOs and officers.
Together, strengthening cooperation through professional military education.



Регионални Институт за Обуку Националне Гарде Мериленда у посјети ЦООПМ-у

Сарајево, 16. април 2026.
Центар за обуку за операције подршке миру (ЦООПМ) угостио је делегацију Регионалног института за обуку Националне Гарде Мериленда, предвођену пуковником Џесом Грином, настављајући партнерство са Оружаним снагама Босне и Херцеговине које траје више од двије деценије.
Делегацији су се придружили представници Канцеларије за одбрамбену сарадњу Амбасаде САД у БиХ, главни подофицир НАТО штаба у Сарајеву, као и главни подофицир Оружаних снага БиХ.
Током посјете, командант ЦООПМ-а, бригадир Дамир Алибащић, представио је мисију Центра, његову међународну улогу, као и кључне активности обуке и едукације. Разговори су се такође фокусирали на будућу сарадњу, с посебним нагласком на могућности индивидуалне обуке за подофицире и официре.
Заједно јачамо сарадњу кроз професионално војно образовање.

The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) officially concluded the Media Management in Peace Support Operations Basic Course (MMPSOBC) on 27 March 2026.
The course, organized together with the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo, brought together 26 participants from AF BiH, NATO HQ Sarajevo, EUFOR, police agencies, academia, and partner countries. Over five days, participants strengthened their understanding of media dynamics in Peace Support Operations and enhanced their Public Affairs skills.
At the closing ceremony, PSOTC Commandant Colonel Damir Alibašić emphasized the importance of the networking opportunities the course provides and thanked partner institutions for their support: the U.S. Embassy ODC, PARC, NATO HQ Sarajevo, EUFOR, and the Faculty of Political Sciences.
This course represents another step forward in reinforcing cooperation and contributing to global peace and stability efforts.

Centar za obuku za operacije podrške miru (COOPM) zvanično je završio Osnovni kurs o upravljanju medijima u operacijama podrške miru (MMPSOBC) dana 27. marta 2026. godine.
Kurs, organizovan u saradnji s Fakultetom političkih nauka Univerziteta u Sarajevu, okupio je 26 učesnika iz OS BiH, NATO štaba Sarajevo, EUFOR-a, policijskih agencija, akademske zajednice i partnerskih zemalja. Tokom pet dana, učesnici su dodatno unaprijedili razumijevanje medijske dinamike u operacijama podrške miru i unaprijedili svoje vještine u oblasti odnosa s javnošću.
Na ceremoniji zatvaranja, komandant COOPM-a brigadir Damir Alibašić naglasio je značaj mogućnosti umrežavanja koje ovaj kurs pruža, te zahvalio partnerskim institucijama na njihovoj kontinuiranoj podršci: Uredu za saradnju u oblasti odbrane Ambasade SAD, Regionalnom centru za odnose s javnošću, NATO štabu Sarajevo, EUFOR-u i Fakultetu političkih nauka Univerziteta u Sarajevu..
Ovaj kurs predstavlja još jedan važan korak naprijed u jačanju saradnje i doprinosu globalnim naporima za mir i stabilnost.
