Urban Design Studio Sarajevo invites you on Monday, 10th of February 2025, at 18:00 on a lecture "Vital Architecture"
Lecture by Li Xinggang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor at Tianjing University

Vital Architecture, is a dual response to the ideal habitat of the tradition and the urgent challenge of the present.

It takes the field research of “Wandering, Walking, Viewing and Living” as its basic inception, the theory of “Integrated Geometry and Poetic Scenery” as its essential ideology, and the practice of “Engineering-Integrated Architecture” as its design methodology.

Through a series of design research and reversible dialogue of “envisioning-thinking-making”, it has evolved into five basic building prototypes and their associated practices, demonstrating how architecture can be integrated with the natural environment, historical heritage, structural aesthetics, community culture, and topography to create contextualized and poetic architectural experiences that interact with their specific environments.

Asocijacija arhitekata u Bosni i Hercegovini sa zadovoljstvom obavještava stručnu i opću javnost da je postignut dogovor sa Upravom općine Centar o zaustavljanju radova na izvođenju dječjeg igrališta u obuhvatu nacionalnog spomenika Stambeni kompleks Džidžikovac, autora Reufa i Muhameda Kadića, kao i o reviziji planirane intervencije uz podršku naše organizacije.

Nakon obraćanja AABH relevantnim institucjama, organizacije predavanja i javne diskusije o značaju očuvanja naslijeđa moderne arhitekture u Bosni i Hercegovini i sastanka sa predsjednikom AABH Adnanom Pašićem, naši partneri u općini Centar, na čelu sa Načelnikom g. Srđanom Mandićem, donijeli su odluku da obustave radove i pristupe definiranju alternativnog rješenja za igru djece. Podršku procesu dao je i Zavod za zaštitu spomenika Federacije BiH, čiji je predstavnik Robert Stergar takođe prisustvovao sastanku.

Zahvaljujemo se Načelniku na razumijevanju značaja očuvanja nacionalnog graditeljskog naslijeđa 20. vijeka, kao i na otvorenosti za razgovor i dogovor. Nadamo se da će neželjena situacija koja se razvila na Džidžikovcu u toku protekle sedmice rezultirati i širim pozitivnim ishodom u vidu učvršćivanja partnerstva između lokalne uprave i naše Organzacije i, na taj način, podizanjem nivoa kvalitete i kulture naše izgrađene okoline.

Join us tonight for the lecture and roundtable at the Urban Design Studio, organized by our UTPS UNSA team. The focus of the event will be Residential Colony Džidžikovac and its authors Reuf and Muhamed Kadić, concidering their life, education, practice and influences.

Jučer smo s ponosom ugostili austrijskog ambasadora Georga Diwalda u Studiju urbanog dizajna Sarajevo. Prof. Adnan Pašić predstavio je naš rad i projekte, uključujući aktuelne i buduće planove.
Austrijska arhitektica Hanna Szechenyi također je predstavila svoju izložbu pod nazivom “BOB”, koja istražuje teme vezane za bob staze u Sarajevu i Innsbrucku. Izložba, koja je bila dio programa Curator in Residence Sarajevo 2024, ostavila je snažan utisak na sve posjetitelje.

Yesterday, we were proud to host Austrian Ambassador Georg Diwald at the Urban Design Studio Sarajevo. Prof. Adnan Pašić presented our work and projects, including current and future plans.
Austrian architect Hanna Szechenyi also presented her exhibition titled “BOB,” which explores themes related to bobsled tracks in Sarajevo and Innsbruck. The exhibition, part of the Curator in Residence Sarajevo 2024 program, left a strong impression on all visitors.

Join us for the opening of the exhibition "BOB", an experimental exploration of scale, identity, and architectural legacy. The project reimagines Sarajevo’s iconic yet seemingly unused bobsled track through playful reinterpretation.

Join us at the Urban Design Studio Sarajevo for a live viewing of The World in Florence – Cultural Storytelling: Narrations from Around the World, featuring a special presentation by students from the International University of Sarajevo (IUS): "Places Where Memories Are Everlasting - Museums of Sarajevo."

The presentation by IUS students will take place on Tuesday, November 12th, at the Urban design studio Sarajevo during the afternoon session from 14:30 to 18:30, as the tenth in a series of presentations, each lasting approximately 7 minutes.
