We are proud to see UWC Mostar alumnus Orhan Rokša reflecting on his journey to his current role in digital transformation, IT and AI strategy.

Orhan’s story is a wonderful reminder of how curiosity, perseverance, initiative, and a willingness to help others can open doors far beyond where a journey begins.

We are always happy to see members of our UWC community carrying their experiences into global spaces and, in turn, sharing what they’ve learned with the next generation.

Orhan will be one of the speakers at the upcoming Kiss the Future AI Summit in Sarajevo. Congratulations, Orhan! 🌍👏

First week, first adventure!

What better way to kick off life at UWC Mostar than a day out on Trebižat river? 🌞

Earlier this week, some of our Year 1 students spent the day canoeing and getting to know one another along the way.

Outdoor education is a big part of UWC Mostar, giving students the chance to step outside the classroom, experience the incredible nature around us, and learn together in a different setting. 🏕️

And this weekend, it’s the next group’s turn! 🛶

This summer, our Year 2 student, James took his passion for history and social sciences to Stanford University through the Stanford Summer Humanities Institute (SSHI). 🎓

As part of the Revolutions course, he explored historical discourse and the elements of revolutions through political science and history, while gaining a glimpse into what university-level academics and social life look like.

Beyond the classroom, James loved meeting people from different backgrounds and perspectives, reaffirming his interest in sociology, and sharing his own ideas.

We are happy to see our students embrace new environments, and return with new perspectives. ☀️💙

We are excited to celebrate UWC Mostar alum Jan Arapović (‘25) and his short stop-motion film “The Stone Wedding”, which recently premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival’s BH Film programme. 🎥

Inspired by the myth of the stone pillars near Bugojno, BiH, the four-minute film follows a laundress and her encounter with a spirit in the woods.

Reflecting on the project, Jan shared how his two years of Visual Arts at UWC Mostar contributed to the stylistic and creative development behind his work.

The film has also been selected for the Student Panorama programme at the Banjaluka International Animated Film Festival, from 692 submissions across 61 countries.

We are so proud to see Jan and our alumni continuing to bring their creativity to screens across Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond. Congratulations Jan! ❤️

We started this morning on a fun note with CAS Fair! 🎨 🏃‍♀️🤝

As part of the Induction Week, our Year 1 students get a chance to learn more about CAS offered at our school.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is an important part of student life at UWC Mostar, encouraging students to explore their interests, learn through experience, and to take on new challenges.

Our wonderful Year 2 students presented and shared what they have been doing in different CAS activities. From creative projects to volunteering, there are plenty of ways for students to get involved!

Today, our new students had the chance to explore different classrooms, talk to teachers, and get a closer look at each subject. 📚

The Subject Fair is a part of Induction Week, and it is designed to help students make informed decisions about their academic choices as they begin their UWC journey.

With guidance from their tutors and conversations with teachers, students can explore their interests and get a better understanding of what each subject has to offer.

Year 1s, we hope the Subject Fair helped you get a better idea of the subjects you’d like to take on your IB journey!
