Although we consider ourselves optimists (and so we prefer to see the good in people), the truth is that crime is a problem around the world. And for English language exams, crime vocabulary is a common topic. 🕵️‍♂️

Check the image and caption to see the important differences between other crime verbs and nouns related to “steal”.

Pickpocket (noun & verb)
Ex: He’s an experienced pickpocket.
Ex: She pickpocketed the smartphone.
Rob (verb) / Robber (noun)
Ex: They robbed the bank last night.
Ex: The robbers escaped with the money.
Extort (verb) / Extortionist (noun)
Ex: The boss tried to extort money from his rival.
