Shinobi rokugu

Amigasa 編笠 – Slamanati šešir
Kaginawa 鉤縄 – Kuka sa kanapom
Sekihitsu 石筆 – Pisaljka
Kusuri (Inori) 薬 – Priručni ljekovi
Sanjaku Tenugui 三尺手拭 – Marama od tri stope
Uchitake 打竹 – Prenosnim za vatru

English text follows
Shinobi rokugu
Shinobi Rokugu are six essential tools for every ninja warrior. These tools are mentioned under this name in the written work Shoninki 正 忍 記 in the chapter “Shinobu Idetachi no Narai” (忍ぶ出立での習い). Shoninki was written by Natori Masataka in 1681.

Shinobi rokugu is made up

Amigasa 編笠 – Straw hat
Kaginawa 鉤縄 – Hook with rope
Sekihitsu 石筆 – Pen
Kusuri (Inori) 薬 – Handy medicines
Sanjaku Tenugui 三尺手拭 – A three foot scarf
Uchitake 打竹 – Fire carrier

Most of these objects are outdated, which is quite logical, but today in this modern age we can find an adequate replacement for them

1. Baseball cap
2. The rope hook can still be used very well today
3. Compared to the ancient Sekihitsu pen, today we have different types of pens at our disposal, however, my recommendation is to use a graphite pencil because in case of getting wet, the document will not be stained with ink.
4. Change today can be made from any metal box that prevents medicines from getting wet, these medicines can be ordinary for pain or extra vitamins.
5. Sanjaku tenugui can be any scarf or scarf
6. Uchitake (Tsukitake) today is a lighter that we can easily place in our pocket or matchbox.

Randori 乱取り is type of sparring where you try to fight your opponent by sudden grab, throwing, choking or simply said with everything that is part of your art. In Ninpotaijutsu when you do randori you maintain same way of striking, kicking etc as you have practiced. You are not supposed to discharge everything and start to jump around like practitioner of some other martial arts. Also when you do randori with someone from another art do not try to fight by using their method of fighting because you will lose. You are not trained as kickboxer or judoka!

Bellow this ext is video in which you can see how randori is properly done and you can use it as model in your training

"Once you become student fist what you should learn is how to listen and look. By learning how to listen your Sensei you will achieve a level of resonating on same level of vibration of his voice. At first, you are looking at his demonstration and listening his words. Then comes emulating process that we know as learning and putting the words into muscles memory. After a while we stop looking. Just listening become the way of learning. When we achieve a level when Sensei's voice is always in our ears, we can say that knowledge is transferred mystically into our consciousness. That voice will follow us and give us instructions like our own inner voice in critical situations. That fusion is called eternal knowledge transferred by all previous generations to us through teacher. The one who is older to me, not just by years, but by hierarchy of knowledge. That's what we call oral teaching. Secret teaching that can't be stolen or destroyed. There is no need to put it on paper. Even when it is written it can't be understood by outsiders because it's still secret teaching that should be unlocked by teacher to student. Written on paper and given to the student one day is more physical demonstration of transferred knowledge than giving real knowledge in few scrolls. Being in that state of mind on spiritual level of consciousness we are able to become a link on the chain of the knowledge. Do not write. Do not ask. Be prepared just to listen, so one day someone can listen you."

My message for today (from April 2020)
It's hard time as in same time it is hard to practice. But anyway stay humble, live according the time you live, live with people, be respectful, do not force anything. Help other without expecting anything in return. Get rid of desire to control (chikara wo nuku), don't allow your mind to be corrupted and under influence, be flexible not just in your body but in your mind too, broaden your horizons. Live natural life.

Japanese character BU 武 is composed from several others characters. Among them is first character 戈 Hoko, which present Chinese spear used from Shang dynasty (Yin dynasty) (c.1600-1046 BCE) until Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). Next character is today read as Tomeru 止, but actually in old writing his reading is footstep, and his meaning was to move forward. But after Edo period his meaning is accepted as to stop due the fact that at that time Tokugawa Bafuku tried to change meaning of martial art giving them more philosophical approach.
