The Final Chapter of SELS Baku 2025!

As the 9th edition of SELS Baku came to a close, the final day was filled with both cultural exploration and heartfelt goodbyes.

⚖️ The academic programme began with a lecture on Business and Litigation: Court Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution, delivered by Fuad Gashamov and Ruslan Bayramov, representatives of Legalize law firm. The lecture was followed by a moot court simulation, judged by the same professionals. At the end of the academic programme, participants received their certificates, marking the conclusion of their learning journey.

🗺️ The excitement continued with a thrilling Treasure Hunt across the streets of Baku! Participants completed creative challenges and explored the city while racing to finish their tasks.

👋🏼The day wrapped up with a touching Goodbye Party, where participants wrote thoughts and wishes on each other’s T-shirts and celebrated the friendships and memories created during this unforgettable week.

Day5️⃣:

💼The academic programme began with an engaging session by Ismayil Suleymanov from PwC Azerbaijan, focusing on international business taxation.

📄In the second part of academic programme, Emin Karimov, also representing PwC Azerbaijan, led a session on Mergers and Acquisitions.

💃🏽During the Gala Ball, participants enjoyed performances by a professional dance group, bringing national dances to life. The evening continued with music, dance, and a feast of Azerbaijani national cuisine, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere to conclude this unforgettable experience.

SELS Baku - Fourth day Recap!🌞

Day4️⃣:

⚓️ The day started with a visit to the Surakhani Ship Museum, where participants explored Azerbaijan’s maritime history and the world’s first oil tanker turned museum.

💻The first session was delivered by Jamaladdin Abishzade on International Regulation of Business Contracts and Legal Challenges in Cross-Border Transactions, where participants explored the complexities of global commerce and key legal frameworks shaping international deals.

💡Later, Turkan Karimova led a session on IP Rights in Business, covering trademark, patent, and copyright protection, along with practical strategies for licensing and commercialization.

🍹National Drinks Night provided participants with a platform to showcase their traditional drinks, fostering cultural exchange through shared flavors and stories from their home countries.

🏖 Following the institutional visit, the social part of the day took place at the beach. Participants spent a relaxing beach day enjoying the sun and sea, creating memories through swimming and beach games. The evening continued with a beach party, offering the perfect atmosphere to have fun, and enjoy the summer spirit together.

Day 3️⃣:

🏛 The day began with an institutional visit to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, where participants gained informative insights into the functioning of the Azerbaijani judicial system and the structure of its highest court.

They also had the opportunity to observe a roundtable meeting between the Supreme Court and the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Türkiye, witnessing perspectives on cross-border legal cooperation and shared judicial experiences.

📚Samira Safarova, from KPMG Law Azerbaijan, delivered an inspiring session on The Art of Business Negotiation & Contract Drafting, where participants also actively engaged in a practical simulation, exchanged ideas in group work, and shared their perspectives during lively discussions.

As we wrap up the 9th edition of SELS Baku, we are excited to share some highlights from the opening ceremony!✨

Organized by ELSA Azerbaijan, the event was held from July 6th to 13th, 2025, offering a week filled with enriching sessions on Business Law, meaningful connections, and vibrant cultural activities.

Day 1️⃣:

📍The official opening took place at ASAN Service Center in Baku, where Nazim Chalabiyev – President of ELSA Azerbaijan, Tunzala Mustafazade – the Head of the Organizing Committee, Nariman Aliyev – Manager on International Relations of the NAYORA, Raşad Cahangirov – Legal Manager of Turan Legal and Tax Services, and Anvar Huseynov – Head of the Academic Programme warmly welcomed participants, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.

📝The academic programme kicked off with an introduction to Business Law and Business Entities, delivered by Sinara Mammadova from Turan Legal and Tax Services. This was followed by an engaging session on Corporate Governance in Companies, led by Ulvi Seyidli from Dentons.
