Şərqi Avropa qonşu ölkələrində Boloniya prosesinin əsas müddəalarının həyata keçirilməsinə yardım edən, onun müxtəlif istiqamətlərdə inkişafını dəstəkləyən və 2013-cü ildə universitetimizin ilk dəfə qoşulduğu Avropa Komissiyasi ERASMUS MUNDUS təhsil, ixtisasartirma və təcrübə proqramının MEDical UnivErsities Alliance (MEDEA) – Tibb Universitetləri Alyansı layihəsi yola saldığımız 2017-ci ildə başa çatdı. 4 il davam edən layihə dövründə universitetimiz Avropanın qabaqcıl Pol Sabatye Tuluza (Fransa), Berlin Humbold universitetinin Şarite Tibb fakültəsi (Almaniya), Kardiff (BK), Çester (BK), Peruca Universiteti (İtaliya), Porto (Portuqaliya), Santyaqo de Kompostella (İspaniya), Vilnyus (Litva), Latviya, Saloniki (Yunanıstan) universitetləri ilə tibb, əczaçılıq, stomatologiya, səhiyyənin təşkili, tibbi elmləri sahəsində tələbə, magistr, doktorant və müəllim mübadiləsi həyata keçirmək imkanı əldə edib.

İyun ayında Yunanıstanın Saloniki şəhərində keçirilmiş konfransda layihənin işinə yekun vuruldu və universitetlərin layihədə aktivliyi müzakirə olunub.Yekun konfransda koordinator və partnyor universitetlərin hesabatı dinlənilib. Yığıncaqda layihə dövrü ərzində ATU-dan Avropaya 11 (bunlardan Berlin Humbold universitetinin Şarite Tibb fakültəsinə - 3 tələbə, Peruca universitetinə – 1 tələbə, 1 magistr, 1 müəllim, Vilnyus universitetinə - 1 müəllim, 1 tələbə, Kardiff universitetinə - 1 magistr, Pol Sabatye Tuluza universitetinə - 1 magistr, Santyaqo de Kompostella universitetinə - 1 doktorant), Vilnyus (Litva) universitetindən ATU-ya 1 bakalavr dərəcəsi üzrə mobilliyin həyata keçirildiyi qeyd edildi.
Tərəfdaş universitetlər və koordinatorların bu təcrübəni yüksək qiymətləndirmələri, bunun həm iştirakçıların gələcək fəaliyyətləri, həm də ali təhsil ocaqları arasında əməkdaşlığın davam etdirilməsi üçün faydalı olacağı xüsusi vurğulanıb.
ATU-nun ilk mübadilə proqramı olan MEDEA layihəsi Azərbaycanın ali tibb təhsilinin Avropa tibb təhsil məkanına inteqrasiyası, universitetimiz və Avropa universitetləri arasında tələbə və müəllim kontingentinin mobilliyinin asanlaşdırılması yolunda vacib addımlardandır.

ERASMUS MUNDUS MEDEA project now is coming to its end .. last months of mobilities and we will say goodbye to MEDEA, such a wonderful opportunity to meet new partners and make new friends. MY EXPERIENCE WITH ERASMUS MUNDUS PROGRAM (MEDEA PROJECT)

Introduction. My name is Khuraman Isgandarova. In 2015 I have graduated from Faculty of General Medicine in Azerbaijan Medical University and the same year I have applied for scholarship aspired by Erasmus Mundus Program. I was given a great opportunity to spend 10 months in one of the most honorable and prestigious Clinics in Europe, in Charité, Berlin, Germany.

Briefly about the selection process. I have applied for undergraduate position. The requirements for successful application were high grades and sufficient level of an appropriate language (mostly English, but in France and Germany French and German respectively). As I have chosen Charité as the University I wanted to spend two Semesters in, it was essential to possess good language skills in German. The minimal level for being considered as a candidate was B2 Certificate. I had C1 and I think it was one of the crucial moments for final decision of admission committee. Needless to say that the better you speak and comprehend the language the less the gap between you and teaching staff, doctors and patients. Good notes are also very helpful in order to convince juries that you are the right one to get scholarship. Among the other documents that may be of benefit for you in selection process cover- and reference-letter are to be mentioned (it’s good to not only describe your professional and academic plans but also emphasize on your intention to get to know the new city, culture and etc… since it’s actually one of the goals of this program).

Clinical Rotations. I was allowed to select not only the departments in clinics but also the duration of each clinical rotation. Taking into account my future professional interests, I have made a list of desired departments and sent it to my host-university coordinators. Each rotation lasted on average up to 5 weeks. The whole hospital staff was very friendly. Doctors provided me with all necessary information about Healthcare in Germany. We were discussing interesting clinical cases, the therapy options together and also talked about innovations in field of medicine.

The social life. It was cool that I lived in such amazing city as Berlin. There are so many diverse places in one city, historical objects, nice libraries and open-air activities. Both the practice in clinics and entertainment program were very well organized. I had always various options in terms of what to do and where to go.

Although I wanted to be succinct and avoid long telling, I tried to shed the light on the principles of this program. It was doubtless great experience. I can list many capabilities I have developed and improved during this year. The most obvious is the broadening my mind. You communicate with different smart people, practice your language, rise professionally and get to know new culture. I want to thank everyone (sounds like Oscar Winner Speech :) ) who supported me along the way. Rahima Gabulova , the Vice-Rector in AMU is one of the most important persons who was actually the first one who told me about this program. I want to thank my Charité coordinators, who helped me with all my questions and made my stay in Berlin safe, comfortable and interesting. I thank hospital staff and everyone who I worked with. I learned so much from them. I highly recommend to apply for this scholarship and to try out the quite new life-experience!
