Primary school

Modern Innovation Lyceum Primary school (pre-school, I- IV grade) delivers a broad, balanced Curriculum, which is adapted to meet the needs of the school’s international community. All pupils in the English section of the Primary school follow the English National Curriculum. The main subjects are taught in English languages. We frequently assess pupils through formal methods. Standardised tests, used by UK schools, are performed regularly to track children’s development. In addition, teachers complete records of teacher assessment, based on their knowledge of the progress each pupil has made. A full time teacher and a classroom assistant allow for a high level of individual attention. At the end of each academic year, children’s attainment in reading, writing and maths are assessed by teachers. These assessments are supported by the use of standardised tests designed to assess children against the levels in the English National Curriculum. At the end of 2 grade children’s levels in English (speaking & listening; reading; writing) maths and science are assessed, again using a combination of teacher assessment and standardised tests. I. In the 7-8 grades all the subjects are taught. We offer a flexible curriculum with integrated assessment. At the end of the IX grade the pupils write the Check Point Exam in English, Mathematics and Science. The first three years of secondary education is of vital importance and provides excellent preparation for the IGCSE programme. In the 10-11 grades the offered IGCSE programme is the world's most popular international curriculum. At MİL, we are proud to offer a choice of 19 IGCSE subjects. External Exams are written at the end of the 11th grade. An IGCSE Certificate provides excellent progression to the next stage of education – the AS/A2 programme. In the 12-13 grades The AS and A Level curriculum offers learners a wide range of subjects to choose from. The AS/A2 programme helps learners to develop deep understanding and independent learning and critical thinking skills which universities value highly. The AS/A2 programme focuses on equipping learners with skills they need to succeed at university, and as such, are recognised by universities and employers worldwide. The school offers a Foundation Programme as well for Year 12 students. The Foundation Programme offered at MIL has recently been registered by UCAS (The University and Colleges Admissions Services). This means that the Foundation Programme offered by MIL has the same status as any other Foundation Programme offered in the UK. Our lyceum differs from other high schools in terms of well-equipped, large and light classrooms supplied with modern equipment. The classrooms, desks, shelves, bookcases, carpets and other equipment are decorated with different colors in accordance with the age levels of pupils. The school provides excellent specialist facilities, including specialist laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
