WHAT IS AEGEE-EUROPE?
AEGEE is the largest interdisciplinary student association in Europe, which aims to PROMOTE the concept of a united Europe, EMPOWER the cooperation and the international dialogue, SUPPORT the integration among young Europeans, INCENTIVE the development of a more open and tolerant society, STRIVE for an equal, borderless Europe, without conflicts. AEGEE has partecipatory status in the activities of the Council of Europe, as permanent observer; has a consultative status at the United Nations and an operative role at UNESCO. It is also member of the European Youth Forum.

WHAT IS AN AGORA?
The Agora is the general assembly of AEGEE and the most important meeting for the organizations’ members. It is independent and non-party related. The assembly takes place twice a year, as Spring Agora and Autumn Agora.
In spring 2018, about 800 students will meet in Cracow, coming from over 200 cities and 40 European countries to spend 5 days.
During the Agora members can take part in many workshops, create plans for the future of organization, exchange opinions, share your experiences.

WHAT IS AN AGORA?
Agora is the general assembly of AEGEE – not party related and independent – that represents the most important youth meeting of the continent, since every six months it gathers over 800 youth from all over Europe. For 5 days, the huge number of 1300 youngsters will meet in Catania, coming from over 200 cities and 40 European nations, for Autumn Agora Catania.
This extraordinary result will be reached thanks to the availability of the Catania Exhibition Centre (Complesso Fieristico le Ciminiere), the wide range of connections to the local Airport with European destinations and thanks to the excellent promotion done over the last years by AEGEE-Catania. A 5-days event with such a magnitude will turn Catania into a world youth capital, together with other metropolis such as AMSTERDAM, KIEV, BUDAPEST, ISTANBUL, BERGAMO and ENSCHEDE that recently hosted a similar event.

Autumn Agora Catania will gather in Catania 1300 youngsters from all Europe, from 27th September to 1st October, for the biannual meeting of AEGEE.

Azerbaijani participants in Poland under Erasmus + project

Three people from Azerbaijan participated in the Training course “Youth 3.0” together with other participants from Poland, Ukraine, Italy, Macedonia, Turkey, Spain and Portugal between 07-16 April 2016 in Gdansk, Poland. The Project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. Training Course "Youth 3.0" is the meeting of youth workers interesting in using social media at the work with youth. The number of people using the internet it is growing rapidly every time. The World Wide Web is one of the most used means of communication and entertainment. Online campaigns are becoming very popular methods of spreading the message. Online platforms help in reaching anyone who is having access on the internet. Through the internet campaign is widely geographically spread, reaching those young people that otherwise would be difficult to reach. People can create, discuss, share their ideas with others (from different places, countries, and continents) and these ideas can reach millions of people in a short time.
The aim of the project is to discover and improve different methods and techniques using online tools, especially social media at the work with youth. During the training, they got information about:
• Facebook as a tool for involvement youth in activities;
• Networking - Supporting young people to carry out peer to peer work online;
• No Hate Speech Movement as a good practice of on-line campaign;
• International activities in social media;
• Social media in local.
Our participants introduced our country at the international evening with presentation, our national foods, songs and dance. They also shared their ideas about project topic with other participants from different countries and got much experience related to the project theme.
They discussed and prepared materials about following topics:
 The benefits of social media for students and young entrepreneurs
 The benefits and dangers of social media on minors
 The situation of social in the country
 Prepared informative videos and materials to show dangers of social media
One of videos is called “tomorrow will be late”. Parents must protect minors from dangers of social media which some people can oblige them for bad things. Other video is called “Respect no”. It was about behavior of men to women. Our participants discussed about project with students from different universities and NGOs and share these materials with them. They also will share these videos in different web-sites and pages.

International Youth Exchange in Karasu (Istanbul -dan 200 km aralı), TURKEY

Tarix: 27 May – 05 Iyun

Participants: 5 (18 – 24 yaş)

Venue: Karasu, Turkey

Partners: Azerbaijan, Turkey, Italy, Lithuania, Hungary, Croatia, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Aim: The overall aim of the youth exchange is to promote healthy and active way of life among young people. It will be built on non-formal education and consist experimential learning elements, cooperative techniques, outdoor activities, family visits, planting trees, sharing, exploring, organizing an exhibiton.
During the project participants will have the opportunity to learn more about drug addcition, risks, reasons leading drug using in the participant countries and they will hear about good practices to fight against it during the exchange. Participants will be able to use the knowledge they have gained on the first days and will attract attention to the importance of fighting against drug using via the drama performances in cultural heros’ costumes in public places and the morning exercises open to local people. They will also express their points of view by designing logos, posters and slogans.
