On May 2nd, we continued our “Geometallurgical Journey” course with the second session titled “Impact of Mining Operations on Safety and the Role of Modern Automation Systems in Underground”, led by Ibrahim Khalilov. 💙⚙️

Participants learned about underground mining safety, operational risks, and the growing role of modern automation systems in improving efficiency and protecting workers in mining environments. The session provided practical insights into how technology is transforming underground operations and creating safer industrial practices. 🚀🧩

On April 28, SEG successfully launched the first session of the Integrated Oil & Gas Course: From Subsurface to Surface.

📌 Topic: Reservoir Characterization & Subsurface Interpretation

Participants explored the fundamentals of reservoir analysis, subsurface interpretation, and the geological processes behind hydrocarbon accumulations, gaining valuable insights into the upstream sector of the energy industry.

On April 26th, the first session of our From Rocks to Reservoirs course successfully took place, bringing together participants eager to explore the fundamentals of geology and reservoir studies. 🌍✨

The session, conducted by Qalib Muradov, covered rock types, depositional environments, and reservoir fundamentals, helping attendees gain a better understanding of the connection between geological formations and reservoirs.

It was an engaging and insightful session for all participants. 🚀

On April 25th, we successfully held the first session of our “Geometallurgical Journey” course, featuring “Complex Methodology of Geological Exploration”, led by Elfag Mammadov. 💙⛏️

During the session, participants explored modern geophysical research methods and gained valuable insights into how geological data is collected and interpreted in real exploration projects. Our first Petrel session, organized in collaboration between SEG ASOIU and SEG BHOS Student Chapters under the mentorship of Fidan Aslanzade, was successfully completed! 🌍💻

Our Geologists’ Day Special Movie Screening of San Andreas held on 11th April 🌍🔥

An exciting day filled with action, great moments, and amazing company. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the screening even more enjoyable! 🍿🎥

Our course, titled Introduction to Subsurface Pressure (PPFG) has successfully come to an end, led by Farida Jahidzada, who is a IAGT Regional Geohazards Specialist at BP✨️

Session 1 (April 19th) provided a Theoretical Introduction to Formation Pressures, covering the fundamental concepts and principles behind subsurface pressure systems.
Session 2 (April 26th) brought these concepts to life with a Practical Introduction to Formation Pressures, giving participants hands-on insight into real-world PPFG applications.

Across both sessions, participants gained a deeper understanding of pore pressure, fracture gradients, and their critical role in safe and efficient drilling operations — bridging the gap between theory and industry practice.📈
