Sample essay on tourism ☺️

It is widely acknowledged that tourism significantly contributes to the local economy. However, its drawbacks are often underestimated. I firmly believe that issues such as pollution and cultural ignorance should not be neglected.

Firstly, many tourists fail to research the customs of the countries they visit. Without basic cultural awareness, they may unintentionally offend locals. For example, speaking loudly on public transport is considered rude in certain nations and can result in disapproving reactions. Even simple interactions such as greetings vary across cultures, and ignorance of these traditions may cause tourists to be perceived as disrespectful or uncultured.

Secondly, visitors frequently contribute to environmental problems, ranging from noise to waste pollution. Some assume it is solely the responsibility of cleaners to maintain public spaces, and therefore dispose of litter carelessly. This not only worsens pollution but also undermines local recycling systems. In many countries, strict rules govern waste separation, and throwing items into the wrong bins can even result in fines.

In conclusion, while tourism plays a vital role in boosting the economy, its negative impact on the environment and social harmony must not be overlooked. Tourists should take the time to learn about the traditions of the countries they visit and act responsibly towards the environment in order to ensure that tourism benefits both visitors and locals alike.

Some people believe that young people should be required to do unpaid work to help the community. Others think that this should not be mandatory.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Independent essay sample:

Some people argue that young people should be required to volunteer in community service, while others believe it should remain optional. I firmly believe that the younger generation should take part in community life, as it plays a crucial role in shaping their character.

Teenagers who are open to working without financial reward tend to gain valuable experience in diverse fields. As a result, they not only broaden their horizons but also develop problem-solving skills and resilience. Furthermore, community service fosters a sense of responsibility, as young people witness how individual contributions can positively affect society. It also nurtures empathy and attentiveness, qualities that extend into their everyday lives.

On the other hand, some argue that community work is a waste of time, since it demands energy without providing monetary compensation. They believe it is more beneficial to engage in paid employment, which offers both financial stability and opportunities for career advancement. Given the importance of money in modern life, many young people prefer to focus on jobs that secure their future rather than on unpaid community tasks.

In conclusion, although community service is not compulsory, it is undeniably valuable. Volunteering not only benefits society but also plays a vital role in shaping young people into responsible, caring, and well-rounded individuals.
