Last week at Zuccoli Early Learners, our children celebrated NAIDOC Week through meaningful experiences across all our rooms. ❤️🖤💛

From making and sharing damper, reading Indigenous stories, and connecting with Country through nature play, to exploring sensory experiences inspired by the natural world, our children learned about the importance of culture, community, and caring for the land.

Our Preschool Room children have been exploring the fascinating life cycle of butterflies through hands-on learning experiences.

Miss Ana created an engaging butterfly lifecycle provocation featuring pretend caterpillars, garden insects, natural materials, and magnifying glasses to encourage observation, investigation, and early scientific thinking.

A highlight of the experience was the “Growing Paper Towel Caterpillar” science experiment. The children were fascinated as they watched their caterpillars expand and transform in water, supporting their understanding of growth, change, and lifecycles in a fun and meaningful way. 🦋🐛🔍

🍃 National Reconciliation Week – Yarning Circle 🍃

As part of our National Reconciliation Week experiences, the children and educators worked together to create a special yarning circle.

Our yarning circle has become a meaningful space where we come together to share stories, listen to one another, learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and build a sense of connection and belonging. Throughout the week, children and educators have been gathering in the circle to participate in Acknowledgement of Country, share conversations, and sing Indigenous songs together.

🐝 Buzzing with Learning in our Preschool! 🐝

Today our Preschool children explored the fascinating world of bees through a hands-on sensory experience.

Using yellow playdough to represent honey, the children created and explored different textures while discussing how bees make honey. They also worked together to construct beehives using pasta pieces and got creative making their own bees from pipe cleaners and pasta.
