We are excited to share that we have a new tutor beginning with us today!

George Zhao is a qualified and experienced music teacher and music therapist who will be teaching in our schools in Young, Boorowa, Harden/Murrumburrah and Cowra, as well as our studios in both Young and Cowra.

In due course we'll have some information about George on our website, and we will soon share the benefits of music therapy and procedures for accessing this opportunity very soon. You can read a bit more about George and his practice below:

George strives to provide a well-rounded music education in piano, accordion, and guitar that goes beyond simply reading sheet music. By integrating music theory, ear training, and practical musicianship, he nurtures each student's unique strengths to build a solid foundation and foster a lifelong love for music.

George specialises in Creative Music Therapy for individuals with neurodevelopmental variants, such as Autism, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delay (accepting NDIS plan-managed and self-managed participants). Informed by the DIR/Floortime model and IMCAP-ND framework, his clinical sessions harness live improvisation and co-creation to support functional emotional capacities, fostering authentic expression, growth, and connection in the here and now.

🎼Hello everyone!🎼 Two bits of news, so please click/tap "...see more":

Term 3 In-studio lessons will be beginning from Monday next week! Lessons in school time will resume with the schools - Monday is a pupil free day for them, but not for us!

From the beginning of term 3 we will be running Musical Theatre sessions every Thursday from 4pm to 5:30pm at Noteworthy House. This year we have Sam Kinlyside, Drama Teacher from Young High School, working with Nicole Richardson. It’s going to be great!

The focus of these sessions is to build acting and drama skills, form healthy vocal habits, learn harmonies, and improve dance skills. We will also be working on audition preparation and once the new production for 2027 is revealed, a deep dive into the history, plot and character development for all the roles, as well as early preparation learning harmonies and choreography.

Auditions will be held during the Spring school holiday break as they were last year, and we will once again have a panel of adjudicators. We recommend enrolment in our Term 3 classes for those interested in auditioning – there will be a distinct advantage, as preparation for auditions will form part of the classwork.

The cost of participating in musical theatre for term 3 will be:
$150 (first child in family)
$135 (second child in family)
$122.50 (third or fourth child in family), and an invoice will be sent to you.

How to enrol:
Please stop by the enrolment page on our website: https://www.youngrc.nsw.edu.au/enrolment-neworchange

COWRA EISTEDDFOD
Success for the YPS Senior Band at the Cowra Eisteddfod! Students impressed the adjudicator and audience with their performance of Enter Sandman and Arabian Nights. The Cowra Eisteddfod staff were so impressed they extended an invitation for us to perform at their Grand Champions event in June! Thank you to all our families for supporting and a massive thanks to our amazing conductor Mark Corkery.
