We had the honour of hosting Daniel Principe on Yorke Peninsula who delivered an inspiring and important conversation to our middle and upper primary students alongside students from Yorketown Area School.

Daniel is an advocate for young people and speaks to young people across Australia. He is passionate about supporting children and adolescents to become kind, respectful, courageous, and compassionate members of their communities.

Daniel encouraged students to reflect on the importance of positive friendships, respectful relationships, online safety and being their best self.

Bullying No Way Day 🙅‍♀️

Last week SCMS was a sea of purple as students participated in a range of Bullying no way activities with Wellbeing leaders Jo and SJ. We are so lucky to have our Grace Wellbeing Framework weaved into everything we do and have gained a better understanding that words and actions matter and small acts have a big impact! 💜

📚✨ BOOK WEEK 2026 ✨📚

WOW… what a day!

Our school was transformed into a magical world of books as our students dressed up as their favourite book characters and proudly showcased their incredible costumes to the school community on the catwalk!

From princesses to superheroes, animals, storybook favourites and everything in between, our students brought their favourite stories to life in the most colourful and creative way!

The fun continued as we took our Book Week parade out into the community, with our students proudly to parading down the street in a spectacular sea of colour, imagination and creativity!

And that wasn’t all! Our beautiful art display was a feast for the eyes, showcasing the incredible artwork our talented students have been creating. We are so proud of the creativity, effort and imagination on display.

A huge thank you to our wonderful staff, families and students for making Book Week 2026 one to remember!

What a celebration of books, creativity and the joy of reading! 📚✨

Mum to Meg in Reception, Ashleigh has recently released her third book — how amazing!

Ashleigh is a talented illustrator and creator, and we feel so lucky to celebrate her latest work, Our Farm Day.

You can also see Ashleigh’s beautiful work displayed in her studio window on the Main Street of Yorketown.
