Welcome to the Frozen Dinosaur Land!

Our Pre-Kindy children became little scientists and explorers as they discovered a frozen world filled with dinosaurs!

After freezing the dinosaurs overnight, the children explored the ice, creating their very own frozen land to investigate. They touched, observed and experimented with the ice, noticing how it felt, changed and eventually began to melt.

This sensory experience encouraged children to explore cause and effect, temperature, texture and change, while following their natural curiosity and wondering, “What will happen next?”

📚✨ Book Week 2026! ✨📚

Our amazing team absolutely knocked it out of the park this Book Week! 🎉 Over 5 days, we had 5 different costumes, bringing books, characters and plenty of imagination to life! 📖💫

Book Week is about so much more than dressing up — it’s about celebrating the joy of stories, building a love of reading and showing children that literacy can be fun, exciting and full of possibilities.

A huge thank you to our wonderful educators for getting into the spirit and showing our children just how magical books can be!

Morning Yoga in the Sunshine

What better way to start the day than with a little sunshine, movement and mindfulness!

Our children enjoyed a morning yoga experience in the sunshine, using our outdoor space to stretch, move their bodies and practise calm, mindful movements.

Yoga provides children with opportunities to develop body awareness, balance, coordination and physical confidence, while also encouraging them to slow down, focus and become aware of their breathing.

Learning Through Real-Life Experiences

Our Pre Kindy children have been exploring the world of shopping, healthy foods and early literacy through a wonderful experience inspired by one of our families.

A family brought in some homemade shopping lists from home, giving the children the opportunity to connect their learning to something they experience in everyday life. Miss Katie then extended the experience by creating prompts for the children to find, identify and tick off as they explored.

The children searched for different foods, recognised familiar items and talked about healthy food choices, while developing their understanding of lists, symbols and print.

We love when families share pieces of their everyday world with us — it creates opportunities for children to see that learning doesn't just happen in Childcare; it is all around us!

Exploring Light & Shadow

Today our children stepped into the world of light theory, using torches to explore a darkened space and discover what they could see, create and make visible.

As they moved the torches around the room, the children investigated light, shadows, reflections and perspective, noticing how their environment changed depending on where the light was placed. There was plenty of curiosity, experimentation and those wonderful moments of “What happens if I…?”

This experience supports the EYLF, particularly Outcome 4 – Children are confident and involved learners, as children develop curiosity, problem-solving skills, persistence and a willingness to experiment and test their ideas.

Science Week – Little Scientists at Work!

This week our toddlers have been busy being little scientists! We have explored different science experiments, made predictions, and discovered what happens when we mix, move, sink and float.

We started the week with an ice-breaking rescue activity, where the children used small hammers to carefully break the ice and free the frozen animals. The children were excited to discover the animals hiding inside and loved watching the ice crack and melt as they worked.
Next, we explored the Magic Milk experiment! The children watched with fascination as the colours mixed and moved across the milk when they dipped their sticks into it. We talked about the different colours we could see and encouraged the children to make predictions about what might happen.
We then investigated sink or float. The children explored different objects and talked about which ones were heavy and sank to the bottom and which ones stayed floating on top. We discovered that the little ducks could float while other objects sank, helping the children begin to understand the difference between sinking and floating.
It has been a wonderful week of hands-on learning, curiosity, experimenting and discovery! Our toddlers have loved getting involved, making their own discoveries and seeing science happen right in front of them.

Exploring Feelings & Emotions

This week, our toddlers explored the wonderful world of feelings and emotions through stories, creative experiences and lots of meaningful conversations.

We started the week by reading The Colour Monster, which helped us explore different emotions and learn how colours can represent the way we are feeling. The children then created their own Colour Monsters, choosing colours to represent the feelings they were experiencing that day.

We continued our learning by making our very own feelings jars. The children practised their fine motor skills as they carefully glued down a variety of loose parts, creating their own unique designs.

As the week continued, the children requested to make their own monsters, so we got creative with paper plates! We used the colours from The Colour Monster to create our own colourful and expressive monsters.

It was wonderful to hear the children beginning to connect colours with emotions throughout the week. We heard comments such as, “This is yellow, that means happy!” We also heard beautiful conversations about the people they love, including “I love my mummy and daddy.”

Through these experiences, the children have been developing their emotional vocabulary, recognising and expressing their feelings, building empathy and learning that all feelings are okay.

What a beautiful week of exploring emotions, creativity and connection!
