A Seuss-tastic Book Week 📚

Oh, the places we’ve explored… and the fun we’ve had!

Over the past couple of weeks, Wattle Kids has been filled with all things Dr Seuss as we celebrated Book Week! We’ve brought our favourite stories to life through sensory play, , art and craft, literacy experiences and imaginative play — because there’s no better way to learn than through a good book and a whole lot of fun!

🪨 🔎 Little geologists at work! 💎

Our little geologists have loved exploring our new Rock, Gem & Crystal Investigation Station! The children carefully investigated a variety of rocks, crystals and gemstones, using magnifying glasses to observe their unique colours, patterns and textures. They weighed and measured different specimens, compared their sizes, and shared their discoveries with friends.

A special feature of our collection is the thunder eggs. While they look like ordinary rocks on the outside, when cut open they reveal beautiful crystals and patterns hidden inside. They're a wonderful reminder that nature is full of surprises!

We are so excited to introduce our adorable new guinea pigs, Ruffy and Ziggy! These sweet little boys were very kindly donated by one of our wonderful daycare families, and we couldn’t be more grateful 💙

The children have already fallen in love with our new furry friends and have proudly taken on the important role of helping to care for them. From gently patting them and making sure they have fresh food and water, to learning how to handle them with kindness and respect, the children are developing empathy, responsibility, and confidence through these special daily interactions 🐹

This week at Wattle Kids Family Daycare, we’ve been celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026 and recognising 50 years of honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements. The children have enjoyed a variety of meaningful activities, stories and creative experiences that encouraged respect, curiosity and a deeper appreciation of First Nations cultures. ❤️💛🖤

A timely reminder for services and families using Child Care Subsidy.

Families who received CCS in the 2024–25 financial year need to confirm their family income by 30 June, 2026.

If this is not completed, CCS may stop and families may need to pay full child care fees from 6 July, 2026.

Services may wish to share this reminder with families before the end of June.
