WORKPLACE PROGRAM
Jarred is working at Yarrawonga Manufactured Housing every Tuesday as part of our Workplace Program, where he has the opportunity to experience a variety of jobs and develop valuable workplace skills.

YMH has played a crucial role in supporting students from SHC by providing opportunities to learn, grow and develop new skills in a real workplace environment.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support, care and flexibility that YMH provides. Their commitment enables students to participate in meaningful work experience opportunities at YMH, helping to build their confidence, independence and readiness for future employment.

Science is coming to life across our classrooms!

Year 8 students have been exploring the human body, taking their learning outdoors to create life-sized chalk diagrams that showcase how cells, organs and body systems work together to keep us moving and functioning.

Year 10 students have been investigating rates of reaction, using Bunsen burners to examine how increasing temperature can speed up chemical reactions and applying their scientific knowledge in the laboratory.

Meanwhile, our Year 11 Chemistry students have been undertaking student-designed investigations, developing research questions, designing experimental methods and conducting controlled experiments. These practical experiences are helping students strengthen their scientific thinking, problem-solving and research skills.

The Year 10 Snow Camp is off to a fantastic start! Students enjoyed a trivia night after arriving on Tuesday and today they headed out for their first ski lesson. They were lucky to wake up to heaps of snow and great conditions for learning and fun on the slopes.

Acclaimed author Mark Smith, (The Road to Winter), visited the College to speak to Year 8 and 9 students about his work, writing journey and the inspiration behind his novels.

Following the presentation, Mark ran an engaging writing workshop, where students developed their creative writing skills and gained valuable insights into the craft of storytelling.
