Year 7 Open Day

As per our post last week the Open Day has been postponed (due to current restrictions). At the moment the COVID Guidelines do not allow for any Year 7 2022 Transition Activities.

As soon as this changes we will re-schedule this day.

Can you please register interest in this day and Year 7 2022 at Yarrawonga College P - 12 by emailing [email protected] (including your child's name and current school) to ensure you are on our mailing list.

YEAR 7 ICT - CODING, WEB DEBELOPMENT & BBC Micro:Bits

Yr 7 ICT encompasses an 1hr a week session.

Students grow their skill set to operate in the Google classroom environment.

The students develop an understanding of computer networks and how data is transmitted, websites and website development.

The students manipulate code and program devices such as BBC Micro:Bits, implementing understanding of input and logic functions.

Year 7 Metal and Wood Technology are fun subjects, where students are given the opportunity to be creative and innovative while being in a hands on class at our College.

Students work through classroom safety regarding machines and tooling to better understand what and how they are used when it’s time to start your projects .. and the best parts is, everything you make in class, you are able to take home.

There are so many possibilities available to students who choose to put in the effort and learn about what we have in our fantastic Metal and Wood Technology classes.

CREATIVE TECHNOLOGIES AT OUR 5 - 8 CAMPUS

As students progress through this Campuus students can study Drama in Year 8.

In this class students will focus on developing improvisational and teamwork skills and will spend time developing skills in performance, confidence and character development.

Students work to create a mask character as part of a unit that explores how masks are used in culture and complete the semester developing a performance based on the concept of a journey.

If you child is interested in the arts (visual communication, drama) there are great opportunities at YCP-12.

YEAR 7 ENROLMENTS

Thank you to parents/guardians who have already contacted the school to register interest in our Year 7 2021 Program.

We will be conducting information sessions at the beginning of Term 3. For those who have contacted the school, information will be forwarded to you via your contact details. If not, please contact the College to register your interest for these sessions.

For parents who have asked about enrolment form submission, we would appreciate if enrolment forms could be returned prior to 31st August 2020 to assist with planning for next year.
