We had an incredible book week parade this morning at Yarram Primary School! Students demonstrated so much creativity and enthusiasm with their costumes, and our staff enjoyed dressing up as different characters from Roald Dahl books. Congratulations to everyone for participating!

We had a great day at the basketball tournament in Sale last Thursday. The kids performed so well coming away with two wins and two losses for the day.

Our boys represented our school proudly, displayed excellent sportsmanship and tried their absolute best for every match. They played so well together as a team, with everyone scoring and contributing something fantastic on the day. Well done to you all! 😁🏀

It's time to enrol for 2027!

We are incredibly proud of our own Tallulah who has made the decision to participate in the Hair With Heart challenge! She has been growing her hair since 2022 with the express purpose of donating it.
​
She is also fundraising to help raise vital funds for Australian kids in need, including kids who are experiencing permanent hair loss from medical conditions such as alopecia and cancer.

​We are very lucky at YPS to be able to host the "Big Chop" event when Tallulah's hair will be cut for this incredible cause. The Big Chop will happen on Monday, September 14, and we can't wait to cheer her on!

We have a stunning new seascape in our office, thanks to our incredible Grade 3-6 artists. They learned about true colour hue, tints and shades, practised adding either black or white paint to blue to create different colour values, and used these techniques to paint stunning ocean landscapes with striking black silhouettes.

Another super day at the Eisteddfod for us! Our Room 3 percussion band took home a well-deserved win after an incredible performance of “Lose Yourself”. Thanks to Mr. Kimber for leading this work. Check out their performance attitude!

🌟 Principal Appreciation Day 🌟

Today we celebrated our wonderful Principal, Mrs Langdon 💐

Our students were so excited to share a special word or phrase they felt described her, with responses including dedicated, wonderful, creative, caring, good at art and even G.O.A.T! 🐐💛

Mrs Morton then turned their thoughtful words into a beautiful piece of artwork, which was presented to Mrs Langdon as a surprise along with a gorgeous bunch of flowers.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Mrs Langdon does for our school, our staff, our students and our wider community. Thank you for the care, leadership, energy and heart you bring to YPS every day. We appreciate you! 💐✨

🎨 Under the Sea Creations 🌊

Today our classes created a stunning underwater-inspired artwork, exploring colour, contrast and silhouette to bring the ocean to life.

From graceful sea turtles and playful jellyfish to majestic sharks, rays and coral, every artwork is unique and showcases the creativity and imagination of our students.
