🔎MURDER MYSTERY🔍

We are so proud of our Year 10 Food Technology students and the incredible effort they put into their Murder Mystery Dinner Parties.🍽

From preparing and serving meals to creating their own mystery games, students worked hard to bring their ideas to life and create a memorable experience for their guests.

It was wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork and confidence shine across both evenings. This experience is just the beginning of their hospitality journey, helping them develop valuable skills that will support future study, training and career opportunities in the industry.

A special thank you to our dedicated staff, whose guidance, encouragement and commitment to student growth helped make these events such a success.

🏉 SECA 7s 2026 🏉

What a fantastic day for San Damiano College at the SECA 7s!

Our U14 Girls were crowned champions, going undefeated all day in an incredible effort from a group who have only recently taken up the game.

The U16 Girls showed tremendous resilience, winning their semi-final by 2 points to reach the Grand Final. Leading at half-time and with just two substitutes all day, they finished as worthy runners-up after an outstanding tournament.

Our U14 Boys recorded some strong wins and competed with great spirit, while the U16 Boys overcame an early injury that left them without substitutes for the entire day. Despite this, they remained competitive throughout the day.

Congratulations to all our players on a fantastic tournament 🙌

Today our Principal, Mr Edwards, and Deputy Principal, Mrs Buksh, visited Parliament House to meet with MPs such as the Education Minister the Hon John-Paul Langbroek and representatives from The University of Queensland.🎓

🎓 QTAC Applications & Scholarship’s Masterclass 🎓

It was wonderful to have Griffith University back in the classroom supporting our Year 12 students for the final time with their QTAC applications and Scholarship’s Masterclass.

It was fantastic to see just how prepared and confident our Year 12 students are as they take the next step towards applying for university courses and planning their futures.

What makes this even more special is the journey behind it. Griffith University has supported this cohort since they were in Year 9, when we first formed our partnership. From those early conversations about pathways and possibilities to now supporting students through their university applications — what an incredible journey it has been!

We are incredibly grateful to Griffith University for their ongoing support, guidance and commitment to our students. This is a wonderful example of what a strong school–university partnership can achieve.

✨A SWEET CELEBRATION OF NAPLAN GROWTH✨

What a fantastic day of celebration at San Damiano College!

Our Year 9 students have achieved impressive growth in NAPLAN since Year 7, with gains across every assessment area and an average improvement of +45 points. Writing led the way with an outstanding +65-point increase.

Today we recognised their dedication and effort, with students and school leaders coming together to celebrate this achievement. Their growth journey was even captured in the icing on the cake!

For a gold coin donation, students are invited to wear free dress while helping us work towards our fundraising goal.

Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference and reflects the generosity and compassion that are at the heart of our College community.
