As part of their science unit this term, Year 6 students are exploring how electrical energy can be transferred and transformed in circuits. They will also explore how it can be generated from a variety of sources.

To bring this learning to life, the students participated in a Street Science incursion recently, focusing on electrical circuits.

Students had the opportunity to pose clarifying questions and make predictions during hands-on investigations. They also built and tested simple circuits and reflected on their findings and suggested improvements to their scientific processes.

This term we are welcoming students from St Clare's Kindy to our Library.

These visits provide a valuable opportunity for the children to become familiar with our school environment, develop a love of reading, and build positive relationships with staff. They are also an important way for us to strengthen our partnership with St Clare's Kindy and support a smooth transition to school.

We warmly invite all fathers, grandfathers, carers and special father figures in our school community to join us on Thursday 3 September as we celebrate Father's Day at St Clare's.

The morning will begin with a Father's Day BBQ Breakfast from 8:00am, providing families with an opportunity to come together and celebrate the important role that fathers and father figures play in the lives of our students.

Following breakfast, families are invited to join us for a special Father's Day Liturgy led by Year 2 at 9:00am, where we will give thanks for the love, guidance and support provided by these important people in our community.

Earlier this week, our school community came together to celebrate St Clare's Feast Day, a special occasion that honours the life and legacy of St Clare of Assisi, the patron saint of our school.

St Clare's name comes from the Latin word clara, meaning bright, clear or light. This meaning resonates deeply within our community and reflects our school motto "Live in the Light."

As part of learning about the Japanese Star Festival (Tanabata), our Prep students have learned the words and AUSLAN actions for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

The words mean: "Twinkle Twinkle Shining Bright, In the sky there are lots of stars. Blinking and twinkling, the stars are looking down at us all. Twinkle Twinkle, Shining Bright, In the sky there are lots of stars".

The simplest simple song, Twinkle Twinkle, in Japanese! Learn Japan...
