It’s been a busy year with classes. The second half of 2026 has completely booked out and into Feb 2027. On top of the Beginner Classes Level 1 & 2 we have had the Tong Making, Hammer, Private Lessons and many Juniors come though.

So a big thank you to all the amazing students who have visited the forge it’s been a pleasure to teach you. Those who have booked but not yet had their dates come up thank you for choosing us and we look forward to hammering steel with you soon.

The rest of the Dates for 2027 are up and will be opening for booking shortly.

Had a xouple walk in last weekend with a pair of railroad spikes and ask if I could turn them in to some rustic door handles with backing plates. Rustic isn’t my thing I try to make my works as refined as I am capable of but here we go with some rustic style handles.

Had these lovely ladies, Kayla and her wife Tegan in the forge for a two day private lesson to celebrate Tegan’s birthday. It’s also very close to their 7yr anniversary. So I came up with this nice little interlocking rose idea. Each made a rose with a curved stem and a leaf on the end which interlock to form a heart. The ladies are going to mout them on a nice timber board along with the hooks they forged on either side.

The last projects were rams head themed and we made a fire poker and a letter opener. It was an enjoyable couple of days and Kayla is keen to return and forge up items for her friend’s birthday presents. Lucky friends!

Congratulations to our final class for 2025 completing all the items in the 2 day course. As always we had a lot of fun, especially week two where everyone got into their comfort zone and started to use a bit of creativity and personal interpretation.

One Ring To Rule Them All….. Well one ring forged to make them all. Getting Jiggy with it today. A client is making some replacement pannels for a wrought iron fence. Seems like they are a fabricator/welder so need someone to make the rings. Originally when I quoted him they were 115mm outside diameter. Easy I had the perfect jig already when the order came in he had changed it to 120mm which means a 95mm jig. So had to make a ring to suit. A day in the life of a blacksmith.
Now to heat some steel and make a batch of rings.

Today’s Hammer Making Class was a huge success. Everyone going home with hand forged French Style Cross Pien hammers and steel wedge. Lots of fun and banter throughout the day great group to work with.
