A fantastic meeting today at our club. Congratulations to Ron Hulm for being awarded the Wruck shield for the most wins at the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show with his Championship Minyama Honey. A special thank you to Barry Wedrat from Palmwoods Honey and Tony Minto from Kirrawood Honey for sharing their varroa management techniques. So much awesome knowledge shared today! It was so brilliant to hear from the USC researchers at our club on the weekend. We support them in any way we can. 🐝 👩🏻‍🎓

Queensland researchers are testing novel ways to kill varroa mites, which have developed a resistance to standard treatments.

Very grateful to John for his wrap up of the QBA State Conference at our monthly meetings today. A huge thank you to Dr Roy Barkan for bringing his team along to talk about his research today as well. In our meeting we congratulated and thanked all those involved in our Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show as well. Thank you to those who stayed behind to help with our working bee as well! Thankful for our community and for always building it stronger. 🐝

Aaaaaaand that’s a wrap! A HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers who helped out, and all of our visited who visited, at both our stall and the honey display at the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show! We’ve had a brilliant time this week sharing our love of the world of bees and we sincerely hope to see you at our club at Yandina some time soon! Teamwork makes the dream work! 🍯 🐝 🎡

Well our stall had some very special guests today at the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show! Queen Bee and Mr Bee shared their honey with passers by and stopped for a lot of pictures (and got beaten up by children…) 🍯
