Moving beyond the limits of ADHD.

There is nothing to fix, only lessons on how to manage ADHD and create a life you would love.

Everything in our lives is either a lesson or a blessing.

Pretty much all my clients that I take on don't believe they can create the result they would love in their lives. I help them establish a grounded habit of creating, where most clients go well beyond what they thought was ever possible.

Most of what holds my clients back is their limiting beliefs about life, which is usually the only thing holding them back. As we work together, their perceptions expand beyond what they thought. As a result, they create a new reality with massive new possibilities.

ADHD supports and parenting requires consistency in the delivery of service and consistency in how we parent our children with ADHD. How we turn up to each shift. Do our best to be consistently pleasant.

Consistency in activities for children is part of learning valuable life skills. Consistency is to continue activities until they just don't work. Why? A trait of those with ADHD is not see things through to completion. Have not too many activities, but have a few activities on a regular basis.

Integrating education into daily activities is powerful and a practical way to educate children with ADHD. This is working well with most children with ADHD, but is not something to be pushed.

It is so important that those involved in support services and us as parents don't bring our issues and frustration into the lives of children with ADHD. This results in a backward step in their progress. These children like other children learn from our example not what we tell them to do.

ADHD Christmas

Merry Christmas to my ADHD family. I hope this festive season is about family, friends and connection.

I wanted a moment to share a few words. A lot of the joy of Christmas is about giving, which feels wonderful. Sometimes our loved ones with ADHD don't always show their appreciation in the way we would like, which can be very disappointing.

The joy of giving has two aspects to it. Firstly the highest form of giving is to give without the expectation of getting anything back in return; which may include not being thanked or even a glimpse of what looks like a smile of appreciation.

The second aspect is about our motive in the act of giving. Why do we want the thank you or the look of glee when our gift is opened? Does the act of giving become about us? Maybe the person who has received the gift hasn't learnt the art of receiving or is still learning to appreciate what so many take for granted. This may take time, but as the giver, it's not our job to point to the lack of appreciation. As a third party, we my discreetly share our thoughts of wisdom on appreciation, but certainly not from a reprimanding stance.

The angrier we express our displeasure? It says more about us than the person who didn't say thank you. What does our anger say to our loved ones?

May your Christmas be a time of family, joy, connection and harmony.
