Here’s a question for anyone thinking of getting music lessons for their children. Would you wait until your child shows an interest in reading before buying some books? Would you let them try a school before buying the uniform? What if, as a new parent, I decided to wait to see if my child slept properly before buying a cot?? After all, if they’re not going to sleep well, why bother?? You get the picture!!! Yet when it comes to music, occasionally people are unprepared to invest in essential equipment until the child shows enough interest and commitment!! The saying goes, ‘failing to plan is planning to fail. I can tell you how this story goes. I’m not just interested in getting students through the door, but keeping them. This involves a lot of preparation before lessons begin. Purchasing the right equipment is an important part of this process.

Very excited to announce that we will be starting piano group classes next Monday afternoon in the Yackandandah Seniors Hall, 4:30 til 5:30. These will run every fortnight during school term, on the alternate week to our violin group classes which are already up and running. These classes are always a great observation opportunity for prospective students, so please get in touch if you would like to come and observe a class, as the seniors hall currently has a 20 person limit. Violin and piano group ensemble classes will take place every second Monday on alternate weeks at the Yackandandah Seniors Centre (cnr Wellsford St and High St, adjacent to the memorial park) from 4:30 - 5:30PM unless otherwise stated.

Was so good to be able to finish 2020 with a group class and concert, despite restricted numbers and all. The students all played their solos beautifully and then we finished with some group playing, which involved a bit of the usual silliness lead by me, like walking around in circles and carrying out various acrobatics while balancing lollies on the violins!!

We are very glad to be able to offer face to face lessons again in term 4 due to the easing of restrictions. These will take place at our new premises which we have just moved into at 17A Bells Flat Rd Yackandandah. We will enjoy a much needed break as we unpack our new home and studio😀🎵🎶🎻

Unfortunately due to Stage 3 restrictions coming back into force in regional Victoria from 11:59PM Wednesday night, all our lessons will be conducted online via Zoom from Thursday 6 August until further notice. If you are a prospective student, please still read the info on our website and get in touch if you have questions. If you do all the preparation at this time, you will be prepared for commencing lessons once we are able to meet again. Take care and stay safe.
