📚✨ The Magic of Book Week! ✨📚

As part of our Book Week celebrations, we challenged our amazing educators to a little friendly competition — design and transform their front door inspired by a favourite author! 🎨📖

Each team chose an author and brought their stories to life by creating incredible displays inspired by the books, characters and magical worlds within their stories. 🌈✨

And WOW… look how amazing they did! 🤩 We have been blown away by the creativity, imagination and attention to detail from our educators. From familiar characters to enchanting story worlds, our centre has truly been transformed into a celebration of the magic of reading! 📚💫

Book Week is all about encouraging children to fall in love with books, explore their imaginations and discover that every story can take us somewhere new. ❤️📖

🦋 INSECT WEEK 🦋 🐝

This week at our centre, we are celebrating Insect Week!

🪲Throughout the week, the children will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of insects through a variety of hands-on learning experiences. One of our favourite activities is small world play, where children can use insects, natural materials, logs, leaves and sensory elements to create imaginative habitats and stories.

🐞Small world play encourages creativity, language development, problem-solving and social skills as children work together to explore different environments and learn about the important role insects play in nature. We will also be discussing the characteristics of different insects, where they live, what they eat, and why they are so important for our environment.

🐛We can't wait to see the children's curiosity and imagination come to life as they discover the tiny creatures that make a big difference in our world!

AMBULANCE VISIT 🚑

Today, we had a very special visit from the local ambulance service. The children were excited to meet the paramedics and learn about the important role they play in helping people within our community.

During the visit, the children were invited to explore the inside of the ambulance and learn about some of the equipment carried on board. They had the opportunity to sit on the patient stretcher and see how patients are safely transported when they need medical assistance.

The paramedics spoke to the children about when to call an ambulance, how they help people in emergencies, and ways we can stay safe and healthy.

One of the highlights of the visit was seeing an automated CPR machine and learning how it helps paramedics provide life-saving care. The children were fascinated by the equipment and asked many thoughtful questions throughout the experience.

🌊 AQUARIUM 🌊

We are lucky to have a beautiful aquarium in our Preschool Academy, and it offers many benefits for children’s wellbeing and development

🐠 Watching fish swim calmly through the water can have a soothing effect, helping children feel relaxed and emotionally regulated. Aquariums create a peaceful environment that supports self-regulation, mindfulness, and a sense of calm.

🐟 Aquariums can spark curiosity and learning. Children become interested in marine life, responsibility, and caring for living things, while also developing language and social skills through conversation and shared observation.

🪸 Our aquarium is more than just a beautiful feature — it is a calming, educational, and nurturing space that supports children’s emotional wellbeing and learning every day.

We have raised $455!

This morning we raised $308 at The Biggest Morning Tea and $147 on our portal!

We wanted to thank our amazing North Wyong community for getting involved and raising money for Cancer Council!

🚒 FIRE TRUCK VISIT 🚒

Today we had a special visit from our local fire brigade. The firefighters spoke with the children about fire safety and discussed safe and unsafe fires, what fire alarms do in our homes, and the importance of “get down low and go, go, go” in an emergency.

The children also had the opportunity to see a firefighter wearing full protective gear, explore inside the fire truck, and learn about all the exciting equipment onboard. To finish off the visit, we listened to the sirens and watched the flashing lights — it was such an exciting and educational experience for everyone!
