What should have been an ordinary day representing Wyoming FC quickly turned into a life-changing ordeal for 17 year old Bryce.
During an recent Under 23s match, Bryce was involved in a horrific on-field collision, taking an opponent's knee directly to his face at full speed. The impact was so severe he was rushed by ambulance to the Emergency Department, where CT scans revealed multiple complex facial fractures.
While Bryce and his family are incredibly grateful that specialists confirmed his eyesight has been preserved, the injuries to his face are extensive and require urgent reconstructive surgery.
The collision completely displaced his cheekbone and shattered the delicate orbital floor that supports his eye. Surgeons must now perform complex facial reconstruction using six titanium plates to stabilise and repair the fractures. Without immediate surgery, Bryce faces the risk of permanent facial asymmetry, ongoing complications, and potentially lifelong vision problems.

As a Year 12 student, Bryce should be focused on preparing for his HSC exams. Instead, he is facing severe pain, specialist appointments, hospital visits and major surgery during one of the most important periods of his education.
