For the very first time, Iona College recently had the privilege of hosting the Queensland Youth Theatresports Competition, welcoming some of the Queensland's most talented young improvisers to the IPAC stage.
Our two Iona teams stepped confidently into the spotlight, thinking on their feet, embracing the unexpected, and bringing energy, creativity and teamwork to every scene.
A huge congratulations to both our teams on representing Iona at the state competition for the very first time - a fantastic achievement. Well done!

Recently, our Iona College Mooting Team competed at Griffith Law School against St Augustine’s College, putting their advocacy, legal reasoning and courtroom skills to the test.
Team 1 delivered a confident performance as the Crown, securing a successful result, while Team 2 impressed as the Appellant, presenting a compelling case to achieve a reduced sentence.
Students also took part in a jury activity, gaining valuable insight into Australia’s legal system and the importance of thoughtful decision-making.
We are incredibly proud of our mooters for their dedication, professionalism and willingness to challenge themselves.
With strong experience now gained from both the Bond and Griffith competitions, we look forward to their next challenge at the QUT Mooting Competition.

School is in this morning for Australian Olympic swimming stars Zac Stubblety-Cook and Ella Ramsay, who joined us at Iona College this morning for a training session with Iona Swim Club coach, and all-round legend, John Gatfield.
Zac and Ella are preparing for a long stint on the road, starting with a month in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games starting in July, before heading to LA for the Pan Pacs in August.
So it was definitely our pleasure to make both of them feel at home at Iona College.
Good luck to all our Aussies competing abroad in the months ahead!

Our Year 5 and 6 Readers Cup Team enjoyed a wonderful evening last Thursday at Manly State School, taking part in the Brisbane Bayside Readers Cup alongside more than 30 schools.
The boys gave it their all and represented Iona with pride - a truly valiant effort.
In the lead up to the competition, the team read five books and met each fortnight to quiz one another, sharpening their knowledge and teamwork along the way.
Their commitment, collaboration and love of reading was fantastic to see.
Well done, boys - you’ve made the College proud.
