Our final In Catchment Enrolment Session will be held on Wednesday 4 November at 9.00 am in our Star Theatre.

This will be our last enrolment session before Orientation Day, so we ask that all students who will be joining us in Year 7 2027 and have not yet completed their enrolment attend this final session.

Today we welcomed another wonderful group of our future Year 7 students and families to our third enrolment session for 2027.

It was fantastic to meet so many of our new families, share important information and help everyone get ready for the exciting journey ahead.

We’re excited to welcome Rachel to our Wynnum High community!

Rachel joins us from Marsden State High School and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her new role as our Head of Department – English. We’re looking forward to the passion, expertise and leadership she will bring to our English team and our students.

Our PBL focus this week is On Task. We are on task when we regulate ourselves and participate positively in our learning program. By managing our emotions, staying focused, and engaging in learning, we give ourselves the best opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Term 4, Week 1

In the last week of Term 3, forty- one Year 10 Extension Maths students travelled to QUT for a STEM Experience Day.

QUT student ambassadors took our students through a range of activities and experiences designed to help them explore a future career in STEM, including:
* Discovering their Ikigai (reason for living) and how that can inform their future pathway choices
* An engaging talk from QUT professor and researcher Dr Robert Groth
* A campus tour
* A virtual reality experience
* Group challenge where students needed to convince the audience that their STEM profession would be the best to help Brisbane survive a Sharknado disaster.

A special mention to our civil engineers, electrical engineers and software developers who were our top 3 professions and had the best plans to save us all.

The 2026 YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament is officially underway! 🙌

It was great to catch up with Xavier from Wynnum State High School (right), this year’s Youth Member for Lytton. We were also joined by Alistair, Lytton’s 2025 Youth Parliament representative, who knows exactly what an exciting week Xavier has ahead of him!

Xavier and his fellow Youth Members have spent months preparing, and this week they’ll put their ideas into action—debating the issues that matter to young Queenslanders and the communities they represent. Best of luck, Xavier! I know you’ll represent Lytton and the Bayside proudly. 👏

Congratulations to our Wynnum State High Sport Aerobics teams who competed at the 2026 FISAF Sport Aerobics National Championships on Saturday, 12 September.

Our talented athletes demonstrated extraordinary skill, teamwork, and passion, proudly representing our school on the national stage.

Here are our amazing results:
🥇Southern Sweethearts – National Champions in the Years 7-9 Large Team Phase 2 Category.

🥉Pink Friday – 3rd Place in the Secondary Fitness Category

A huge congratulations to every athlete for the commitment and months of hard work, as well as their amazing sportsmanship throughout the competition season.

A massive thank you to our Industrie1 Coaches, Khloe and Kiana, as well as our teacher and student coaches, Ms Jennings, Ms Colman, Kayla, Maddy, Dempsey, Audrey and Jemma. It truly takes a team to achieve this level of success.
