We warmly invite you to join us for our Inaugural Alumni Event on Thursday, 10 September commencing at 4.30 pm.

This special evening is an opportunity to reconnect with our school community, walk down memory lane, and celebrate the rich history of Wynnum High. You’ll hear from alumni as they share their favourite memories and reflect on the impact the school has had on their lives.

The evening will also include a twilight tour of the school, giving you the chance to see how our campus has grown while revisiting familiar places.

Whether you’re a former student, staff member, or long-time supporter, we’d love to have you with us as we celebrate the beginning of a new alumni tradition.

Congratulations to Ruby G in Year 9, who has been selected in the Met East 15-16 years Girls Futsal team. Ruby will travel to Cairns in October, where she will represent Met East at the state championships. We wish Ruby all the best.

Congratulations to Will in Year 12, who, after months of dedicated training and hard work, was recently selected to represent Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club at the Australian Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) National Championships.

Competing against the best surf lifesavers from across Australia, Will delivered an outstanding performance in a highly competitive field. His result in the final saw him ranked as the sixth fastest IRB driver in Australia, an exceptional achievement at the National level!

Well done Will!

𝐐𝐀𝐌𝐓-𝐔𝐐 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟕-𝟖 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Last Thursday, 13 August, fifteen of our Year 7 and 8 students travelled to Brisbane Bayside State College to compete in Round 1 of the QAMT-UQ Year 7-8 Maths Quiz competition. In this event, students work in teams of three and answer a range of different questions, testing their estimation, speed, accuracy and team work skills.
 
It was a tight race, with two Wynnum teams placing in the top three at the end of the event. Congratulations to Percy D, Memphis B, and Gabby B who took out the win and to Ryan I, Nikola J and Phoenix K who finished third.

Congratulations to all of our competitors who were excellent ambassadors for our school. All competitors will be back to compete again in Round 2 next term – good luck!

🌈✨ 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 ✨🌈
Last Friday, our school came together to celebrate PRIDE with our annual bake sale and musical performances!

It was fantastic to see so many students and staff getting into the spirit of the day with their retro and Pride-inspired accessories — from colourful headbands, earrings and face painting to disco balls.

The celebrations reached a whole new level when some of our very brave male staff members took to the catwalk for our Teacher Catwalk Challenge, showing off some very interesting footwear! 👠

A huge thank you to Mr Kohl, Mr Brewer, Mr Choules, Mr Cranitch and Mr King for volunteering to take part, and to our wonderful spotters, Mrs Hawkin and Mrs Williams, for keeping everyone safe.

Most importantly, the funds raised through our bake sale and donations from the Teacher Catwalk Challenge will be donated to Minus18, an organisation supporting LGBTQIA+ young people.

Thank you to everyone who helped make PRIDE Day such a fun, colourful and meaningful celebration of inclusion, diversity and belonging. 🌈
