What does STEM learning look like at Golden Grove Lutheran?
This week's snapshot will give you a pretty good idea. 🔬⚡🤖
From our youngest learners investigating whether things sink or float, to our older students simulating electrical circuits online — STEM here is hands-on, curious, and genuinely joyful.
FOUNDATION
Bridge design challenges, predicting what floats or melts, and making clouds in a jar
YEAR 1/2
Programming Bee-Bots and exploring forces through hands-on investigations
YEAR 3/4
Building rubber band-powered cars and boats, designing mazes, and block coding with Sphero Bolts
YEAR 5/6
Online circuit simulations, clip circuits to explore open and closed circuits, and light experiments
This is STEM as we believe it should be — messy, meaningful, and rooted in wonder. When students ask why and what if, great things happen. We love learning alongside them!

🌹 Lest We Forget 🌹
This morning, as darkness gave way to dawn, Ellie and Nick, our School Captains, laid a wreath at the Tea Tree Gully RSL ANZAC Day Dawn Service to remember.
On this day, we pause to honour all who have served, all who continue to serve, and all who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we might live in freedom. Their courage, their commitment, and their selflessness are a gift we carry forward.
From the Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School community — thank you.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. — John 15:13

“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” — Matthew 28:6
Jesus’ resurrection changes everything.
He is Risen! Happy Easter!

“Christ died for sins once and for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." 1 Peter 3:18
Good Friday is a day to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who gave his life for the salvation of humanity. Jesus endured unimaginable suffering and agony, becoming the bridge between humanity and heaven when there was no other way. He took on our sins and imperfections and paid the ultimate price for our salvation. Jesus opened the door to eternal life and reconciliation with God through his death and resurrection.

2/3T have been exploring the central idea: Patterns in the world can influence how we organise ourselves. We have learnt about the phases of the moon. We used Oreo cookies to visually represent the four quarter moon phases. We found it interesting that the moon reflects the Sun’s light and that is why the glow and shape of the Moon changes every month as it orbits the Earth. We even had a special full moon this week to talk about - the blood moon!
