The College Leaders from the Kingston and Wyndham campuses recently came together for a Strategy Day.
It was a valuable opportunity to acknowledge the incredible work of our staff, celebrate the progress made across both campuses, and plan strategically for the next phase of Christway College's growth and development.

The Outdoor Ed students from Year 7-10 went River Sledding on the Yarra River in Warburton. After a cold and misty start to the morning the fog cleared when they reached the beautiful Yarra Valley. Students wore their safety gear and had a briefing on the rivers edge, then finally got in the water. It was rather cold but they were having too much fun to notice. They paddled some slower sections of the river to start with and then some small rapid waters. Overall a wonderful day! 😁

Students from the Year 7 to 10 Art and Textiles electives had the opportunity to attend the Top Arts Exhibition at the Ian Potter Centre (NGV). Students viewed the Ian Potter Top Arts Exhibition and attended a viewing of the folio artwork selected and curated by the VCE examiners.
The NGV’s Top Arts collection provides an insight into the artistic challenges faced by students. This is due to the strategic decisions made by students during their VCE creative research study, connecting social and societal trends of contemporary life.
They then toured the gallery collection, specifically designed to inform students how the elements of art impact world class artworks. In particular the students focused on the work of Kusama and how she revolutionised pattern sequence over a rich history of art creation, using line, shape and space.

Our VCE Year 11 Biology students recently took part in a hands-on rat dissection practical, giving them the opportunity to deepen their understanding of mammalian anatomy and body systems in a real-world scientific setting.
⚠️ Please note: Some images from this activity may be sensitive, as they include deceased and dissected specimens.
Throughout the session, students investigated the structure and function of major organs including the heart, lungs, liver, stomach, and digestive system. Having just finished studying the digestive system, dissection gives the students first-hand experience in seeing the subject matter.
The activity also helped students develop important scientific skills such as observation, teamwork, problem-solving, and safe laboratory practices. Students approached the investigation with maturity, curiosity, and professionalism, demonstrating excellent engagement throughout the lesson.
Practical learning experiences like these are an important part of Biology, encouraging students to think critically and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
We are proud of the enthusiasm and respect our students showed during this valuable learning opportunity.
