🚧👷 Construction Zone in Action! 👷🚧

Today, Miss Robin from Happy Feet and the children became little builders as they explored the exciting world of construction! Dressed in safety vests and hard hats, they investigated different types of construction equipment before working together to build amazing structures with blocks.

The fun continued through imaginative play as the children used cones to create their own construction site, pretending to dig, transport sand, and operate construction machinery. It was wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills come to life through play! 🏗️🚜✨

🌟 A morning full of kindness and adventure! 🌟

Today, a small group of children headed off on a special excursion to Mary Mac's Place and our local library. 💛

Our first stop was Mary Mac's, where the children proudly presented the money raised from our recent bake sale to Sally and the wonderful volunteers. They were so excited to explain that the donation was the result of their own hard work! When Sally asked what the money could be used for to help others, Amelia sweetly replied, "Cupcakes!" 🧁❤️ This sparked a lovely conversation about how even small acts of kindness can make a big difference and bring happiness to others.

Next, we visited the library to look for books about Jeepneys to support our current learning. While we couldn't find one today, we've placed a request through Gosford Library and can't wait for it to arrive! 📚 When arriving back to Little Giggles we made damper For NAIDOC week. “50 years of Deadly”

Damper, also known as bush bread, has been an important part of Aboriginal culture for thousands of years. Traditionally, Aboriginal people ground native seeds, nuts and roots into flour, mixed them into dough, and baked it in hot coals.

Through experiences like these, we help children build an appreciation for Australia's rich cultural heritage and the stories and traditions that continue to be shared today. ❤️

Excursion to Return and Earn – Caring for Our Environment 🌏♻

Today we took all of our collected bottles and cans to the Return and Earn station. Over the past few weeks, the children prepared for this excursion by discussing our plan, sharing their experiences, and watching videos about what to expect. The children helped carry the bags of bottles, and one child confidently guided the group to the station, demonstrating leadership and independence.

Along the way, the children noticed a picture of a garbage truck on fire and asked why it was there. This led to a discussion about safely disposing of batteries and why they need to be recycled separately to prevent fires.

During our walk, we also stopped to observe the small fish in the water and noticed rubbish around their habitat. This sparked meaningful conversations about the importance of putting rubbish in the bin, how litter can end up in our waterways and oceans, and the impact it has on sea life. Back at the centre, the children shared their own experiences of seeing rubbish in the community and explored ways we can care for our environment by reusing and recycling items instead of throwing them away. 🌏♻

We were delighted to welcome students from our local high school who are currently studying Childcare as part of their school program.

During their visit, they joined us for music time, worked on puzzles, played games, and spent quality time engaging with the children. The children absolutely love when the students visit and enjoy building these special connections with older role models in our community.

These visits provide wonderful opportunities for learning, social interaction, and fostering relationships across different age groups. We look forward to welcoming them back again soon!
