Cairns Libraries is pleased to offer a range of free teen programs and creative activities across its library branches during the school holidays and throughout July for young people aged 12 years and over.

The Teen Creative Labs and Comic Book Month programs provide exciting opportunities for young people to connect with others, explore their interests, develop new skills, and express their creativity in safe, welcoming, and inclusive community spaces.

Programs include:

• Bike Works – learn basic bike maintenance and repair skills
• Make-Up & Face Art – explore creative self-expression and beginner make-up techniques
• Cosplay Meet-Up & Discovery – connect with fellow anime, manga, and cosplay enthusiasts
• Creative Cartooning
• Concrete Poetry
• Zentangle Art
• Chess Workshops
• Zine Making And much more!

All programs are free to attend, require no bookings, and are recommended for young people aged 12 years and over.

🏐Woree State High vs St Mary’s Catholic College - Volleyball 🏐

On Wednesday afternoon, St Mary’s Catholic College travelled to Woree State High School for a friendly volleyball match against our senior boys’ and girls’ teams.

The girls delivered a dominant performance, securing the win in straight sets, while the boys fought hard in a thrilling contest that went to a deciding third set, with St Mary’s narrowly taking the victory.

A huge thank you to St Mary’s Catholic College for making the trip and helping strengthen southern schools' volleyball in Cairns. We look forward to many more matches in the future!
