Wooroloo Primary School families are warmly invited to join the Wooroloo Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade for a fantastic evening of community spirit, great food, and a cosy bonfire!

🔥 Community Firewood Raffle – Supporting the Wooroloo Volunteer Bushfire Brigade 🔥

The Wooroloo Volunteer Bushfire Brigade is once again holding its popular Community Firewood Raffle!

Thanks to the generous donation of firewood kindling from Wooroloo Prison Farm, you could be the lucky winner of a load of firewood just in time for the cooler months.

🎟 Tickets:

$2 each or 3 for $5
Cash only

📍 Available from: Wooroloo General Store
📅 22 August – 29 August

Tickets will also be available for purchase until 7:00pm at the Community Bonfire Night, with the lucky winner drawn at 7:30pm.

🌿📚 Djurpin Kaa Kaa – Koora Waangkininy Boodjar 📚🌿

What a wonderful learning opportunity for our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 students! 💛🖤

Our students recently had the opportunity to participate in Djurpin Kaa Kaa – Koora Waangkininy Boodjar (Long Time Ago Talking on Country), an engaging Aboriginal History experience.

The program gave our students the opportunity to learn about:

🌿 Aboriginal history and culture
🌏 The deep connection Aboriginal people have with Country
🪃 Life and experiences prior to European settlement
🤝 Reconciliation and respectful relationships
💬 The importance of listening, sharing and learning through storytelling and yarning

Our Year 3/4 cohort and Year 5/6 cohort participated in age-appropriate sessions designed to build understanding and respect for Aboriginal perspectives.

A big thank you to Wundowie Primary School for hosting us and inviting our students to be part of this wonderful experience. We truly appreciated the opportunity to join you for such a valuable and meaningful day of learning. 💛

Thank you also to Charmaine and Renarta for sharing their knowledge, stories and experiences with our students.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn, listen, reflect and connect. 🌿

🌟 Student Leadership in Action! 🌟

This Tuesday, four of our student leaders, accompanied by Ms Price, attended the Shark Tank Student Leadership Day at Bakers Hill Primary School.

Throughout the day, students joined peers from neighbouring schools to participate in engaging leadership workshops, team-building activities and collaborative challenges. They were also inspired by special guest presenter Nathan from Tommy Sugo, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and encouraged students to think creatively, work together and believe in their ideas.

Our students represented Wooroloo Primary School with pride, demonstrating excellent teamwork, enthusiasm and leadership throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of the way they embraced every opportunity and look forward to seeing them continue to grow as leaders within our school community.

A big thank you to Bakers Hill Primary School for hosting such a fantastic event and providing this valuable learning opportunity.
