📝 1. The Hinterland Times – Young Writer of the Year
Ages: 10+
Theme: Don’t Give Up
Word limit: Up to 600 words
Closing date: 31 August
📚 2. UniSC & Mooloolaba Rotary – Telling Stories
Year levels: Year 4+
Theme: Let’s Do It Together!
Word limits:
• Year 4: 300–500 words
• Year 5: 400–600 words
• Year 6: 600–800 words
Closing date: 31 August

Today our Upper School students enjoyed a fantastic day of NAIDOC Week celebrations at Woombye State School! 🖤💛❤️💚💙

Students participated in traditional Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi games, learnt about our local area, shared some deadly conversations around our yarning circle, created a beautiful Sea of Hands, and explored traditional Aboriginal painting and Torres Strait Islander weaving.
A huge thank you to Sally and Pete Lawrence from Black Cockatoo Education for generously donating their time, knowledge and expertise to make this experience so meaningful for our students.
It was a wonderful day of learning, connection and celebration.
