Suncoast 2021 Graduate, Olivia Renkovetsky, had her heart set on undertaking a job as a Paramedic when she left school, changing lives and helping others prioritise their health. As a student who always wanted to venture into a medical profession once graduating high school, Olivia was beyond ecstatic to accept an offer for a Bachelor of Paramedicine at the University of the Sunshine Coast, commencing 2022.

Olivia commenced her studies in February this year and not only has Olivia learnt so much about the Paramedic industry itself but has adapted to life outside of school, kickstarting her career she has always dreamt of.

We are so proud of you Kelsey! This is so wonderful! You are definitely making a valuable contribution to help the local homeless community.

Ceramicist creates shining example of kindness in clay

NINETEEN year old Palmwoods student Kelsey Northcott, has made her debut in small business by focussing on ‘small acts to change the world’.

In doing so Kelsey has already made a valuable contribution to help the local homeless community.

“I want to be able to look back on my life and know that I did everything I could to bring some light to those who need it the most,” Kelsey said.

After completing her education at Suncoast Christian College, Kelsey enrolled to study economics at USC and has started her business Sun Ceramics & Co from her home studio.

“I love the idea of having my own business, because apart from allowing me to be independent and creative, it also enables me to help others,” she explained.

Kelsey produces clay kits consisting of raw clay and tools, which people can purchase to make their own ceramic pieces. All proceeds from the clay kits are donated to the The Shack Community Centre

“I also make ceramic pieces to sell, and run ceramic classes,” Kelsey said. “You can bring your little ones, your mum, your bestie or your other half. You will be welcomed with a platter and a table set up for hand building.

“Then you will be shown through the techniques used in hand building and put on the right path to creating your pieces”.

▶ The Sun Ceramics classes are held at Hello Studio in Buderim and the kits can be purchased from the website www.sunceramicsco.com.au or from Slide Coffee Roasters in Coolum and Caloundra.
