Suncoast Christian College - Pre Kindy -Yr 12 Academic Excellence & Strong Values Catering for students from Pre-prep to Year 12, including Primary, Middle and Senior Schools. SUNCOAST CHRISTIAN COLLEGE is a co-educational independent institution with a total enrolled population of 860 and caters for students from Pre-prep to Year 12 - Primary, Middle and Senior Schools. Because all three schools

operate from the same campus, the curriculum is designed to be seamless and, therefore, facilitate an easy transition from one school to the other. Our entire curriculum is developed around a Christ-centred perspective, using the current Years 1 to 10 Syllabus documents and Senior study programmes accredited by the Queensland Studies Authority.

Congratulations to Skye on her selection into the Brisbane Lions Academy U13 Program.

Skye has also been invited to train with the U15 Girls Squad, an exciting opportunity that reflects her commitment to developing her AFL skills and understanding of the game.

The Youi Brisbane Lions Academy aims to identify and nurture emerging talent through advanced coaching, training and match play experiences, helping young athletes reach their potential.

This has been a long-term goal for Skye, and we are thrilled to see her hard work rewarded. We look forward to watching her continue to grow and embrace the opportunities ahead.

This week, Suncoast Christian College students had the exciting opportunity to engage with representatives connected to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Georgina Baumann from the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee and Paralympian Grace Brimelow shared their experiences and insights with students, highlighting the many pathways available through sport, events, and community engagement.

Georgina also spoke with Year 10 students about after-school dance programs and potential career opportunities within the industry.

Inspired by the visit, our Year 8 students are now using Minecraft Education to design and build virtual Olympic stadiums. Through this STEM-focused project, students are exploring sustainability, accessibility, venue design, and long-term community impact while developing skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and digital innovation.

It is a great example of how real-world experiences can inspire future-focused learning and encourage students to imagine the sporting venues and careers of tomorrow.

Sophos Schools
In the book of Matthew (22:37), Jesus said: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” He is not afraid of our doubts or our questions; it has always been an invitation. In this spirit, more than 120 Year 11 and 12 students gathered at Suncoast Church last Friday for the inaugural Sophos Schools, a day set aside to wrestle with the biggest questions.

Keynote speaker , of QuestioningChristianity , looked at the stumbling blocks people hit when they consider faith, and at why there's still good reason to be optimistic about the future. Founder of Sophos Ministries and Lead Pastor Jonathan Gullo set the context and added his own thoughts throughout. Students worked in small groups with a staff member or volunteer, wrote their questions down in the morning, and put them to our speakers in a Q&A to close.

Mixing creativity with cutting-edge technology.

The brief was simple, design and build a toy for our Little Learners. What followed was a wonderful display of creativity, innovation and empathy from our Year 9 Design Technology students.

Using technologies such as laser cutting and 3D printing, students have transformed ideas into working prototypes inspired by the interests of the children they met during a recent visit.

One project that really stirred the mixture was Emma's mechanical toy, modelled on a KitchenAid stand mixer and inspired by the Little Learners' much-loved sand kitchen. Blending clever design with technical skill, her creation is a wonderful example of designing with the end user in mind.

Emma consistently demonstrates the qualities every teacher hopes to see, initiative, diligence, respect and a genuine commitment to doing her best.

Science Week really had us seeing stars... and building marble runs, growing crystals, flying drones and making pizza!

From our youngest scientists experimenting with colours and magnets, to future engineers designing impressive marble runs, and aspiring astronauts exploring the mysteries of space, curiosity was in full orbit across the Primary School this week.
There were moments of wonder, plenty of teamwork and more than a few surprising discoveries along the way.

A big thank you to our teachers and parent volunteers for helping create a week where imagination, investigation and joyful learning went hand in hand.
The future looks bright, and wonderfully curious.

What a wonderful fortnight for our Acting Up! students, who have been performing with distinction across the Sunshine Coast Junior Vocal and Drama Eisteddfods and the Sunshine Coast Play Festival.

Congratulations to Nicholas, who placed 1st in the Vocal Duet and 3rd in Vocal Solo at the Eisteddfod, and also received an Adjudicator's Award in the Play Festival Solo Section.

Indie was awarded 3rd place in the Play Festival Solo Section and also received an Adjudicator's Award for her performance.

Lachlan was recognised with an Adjudicator's Award, while Acting Up!'s junior productions of Hansel & Gretel and Snugglepot & Cuddlepie also received awards.

These results reflect the diligence, preparation, and commitment our students have shown in the lead-up to these events. Well done to all involved.

Last Saturday, our Suncoast All-Schools Touch Football teams travelled to Caboolture to compete in the Sunshine Coast All-Schools Championships.

With fifteen girls and fifteen boys representing the College, all teams played with determination, skill and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.

Our girls' team finished an impressive 6th overall, while our junior boys, many competing in their very first All-Schools event, delivered an exceptional performance. They progressed all the way to the semi-finals and secured 3rd place, our strongest result to date in the junior divisions.

Our Open Mixed team continued the momentum, finishing the group stage undefeated with four wins from four matches. They then advanced to the Grand Final, narrowly going down 7 - 6 in a thrilling contest to finish as runners-up.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Suncoast, with our Open Mixed team becoming the first Suncoast side to compete in a Sunshine Coast All-Schools Grand Final.

Congratulations to all players and coaches on a fantastic day of competition. We now look ahead with excitement to the Queensland All-Schools Championships later this year.

Senior Girls CBSQ Regional Basketball Tournament.

Congratulations to our Senior Girls who competed in matches from Thursday to Sunday. The girls had some super early starts and long days travelling down to the Gold Coast and represented Suncoast with pride and spirit. They narrowly missed out on advancing to the state tournament but have secured our spot in the Regionals. Awesome work from these fine young ladies.

Success at Dance X Sunshine Coast Regionals

The Senior Secondary Team competed on Saturday, while our Minis, Primary, and Junior Secondary teams performed on Sunday. Across the weekend, students presented 14 routines, including several new works and first-time competition performances.

We congratulate all students on their commitment, preparation, and enthusiastic participation. Their efforts were recognised with numerous placings across group and solo sections, with many performances qualifying for the State Finals in October.
